We wanted a small and intimate wedding so the Atrium was perfect for the ceremony and the private dining room The Wentworth Room was the perfect size for us all to sit around one table for the wedding breakfast. The hotel room was huge with plenty of room for family, photographer and hairdresser and provided us with some lovely photos as well as a good nights sleep-the bathroom was gorgeous too. The food was lovely and the menu choice was extensive as well as reasonably priced. We enjoyed a huge breakfast before heading off on honeymoon. The hotel was perfect for our small wedding and we would definitely recommend it.

A fabulous venue for a wedding - beautifully restored traditional country hotel with the most helpful and friendly staff - highly recommended! We had a Civil Partnership ceremony at the Talbot in August 2013 and booked all of the rooms in the hotel for our guests to stay in after the reception which was held in the garden of one of our parent's houses nearby. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and has been recently restored in a very sympathetic way to the age of the building. From the first visit to the hotel the staff couldn't have been more helpful and enthusiastic, they bent over backwards to make everything perfect for us. We had our ceremony in the atrium, and the day really was everything we had hoped it would be and more. Thanks so much again to everyone at the Talbot!

The Talbot was very helpful in organising our wedding and were willing to accommodate our having the ceremony in the nearby church and our unusual transport. Taking their package meant we did not have to organise many things separately. We also used the same florist for the wedding flowers as was in the package which made things easier. Taking over the whole hotel really worked well, as our guests felt at home and knew everyone else was also a guest. Francesca, the wedding organiser, was delightful and reliable when asked to do anything. For any meetings that we had with the photographer, the Talbot provided complimentary refreshments. A lot of guests complimented the food on the day, many said that it was the best wedding food that they had ever had. In all, we had a wonderful day. Nothing was too much trouble and all of the staff were happy to help and seemed to enjoy the day nearly as much as we did. We would recommend the Talbot to anyone.

We booked the Talbot hotel for our wedding with very high expectations and we were not disappointed. We looked round nearly every luxury venue in North Yorkshire and The Talbot ticked every box for us. A beautiful setting with fabulous food and also perfect for a medium size intimate family wedding. The value for money for 'exclusive' use of the hotel was exceptional and was made extra special by being able to have all our family and friends stay over in the hotel. There are 26 bedrooms so enough to have at least 52 guests stay over. We loved the idea of no-one else being at the hotel and having our own private venue for the day and night. There was no where else in North Yorkshire where you could get this fabulous package. All the bedrooms are wonderful. My Granddad loved his Ryedale room and we were amazed by our honeymoon suite (Junior suite). The staff couldn't do enough for us leading up the wedding when we were planning all the details and also on the day itself. Many of our wedding guests have commented on how incredible the service was over the weekend and how 'professional and friendly' the staff are and also how this was the perfect setting for a wedding. We had our wedding ceremony in the hotel's atrium which was a really unique setting and the grounds are very picturesque for wedding photos. The wedding breakfast menu designed by Craig, Head chef, was amazing. We started with a trio of salmon, Roast Beef and Yorkshire puddings followed by white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake but we were allowed to choose what we wanted and there was no set menu package like at most wedding venues so the freedom to design your own wedding is very flexible which was great for us. Everyone loved the food and I believe there were empty plates all round for every course. What more can I say? It was Perfect! If you appreciate first class service, exceptional food and wonderful bedrooms in a lovely country hotel then you can not go wrong with the Talbot Hotel.
