We recently had our wedding at the Rose & Crown, and I can wholeheartedly say from start to finish, it was absolutely incredible!! Simone, the hotel's Meetings & Events Manager, was superb throughout, nothing was too much bother, and she went above and beyond to make it very special for us and our guests. Jon, the head chef, did an amazing job with the food throughout, and it was hot, delicious and plentiful! He came out and joined us and kept checking that everything was ok and we were happy! Nikki, who cooked the hotel’s breakfast, also did a fabulous job, and the food was hot and very tasty! Brandon at the bar was also superb and attentive. It was very busy, and he did a fantastic job! Rhiannon at reception went above and beyond to help me with anything we needed and was really lovely and helpful. The hotel is set in a beautiful location overlooking the river and cathedral, rooms are lovely and clean and very spacious, the beds are huge and extremely comfortable! We will definitely be back and use the facilities of this wonderful hotel, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone wanting to book a wedding or considering booking a hotel stay! I don’t know where to start for this incredible experience. My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams on June 28, 2025, in the Rose & Crown Hotel in Salisbury. Everything provided exceeded our hopes and expectations. Maisie, the hotel’s wedding coordinator, made every effort to accommodate us in every way to make it the most special day for us. She is easy to work with, always available, makes time for our queries, and is happy to walk us through any detail, no matter how small. Maisie and the team went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of, from setting up the decorations to coordinating with our vendors seamlessly. The food was delicious. Our guests ( 47 during the ten ceremony and an additional 10 for the evening reception) all complimented the food from the canapés to the wedding breakfast meal and the evening reception buffet. From the start until the end of the day, the staff were excellent and kind to everyone. Up until now, our family and friends still raved about how incredible everything was. I cannot recommend this venue and all of its staff. Thanks to Maisie and the team for giving us an unbelievable day and memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

We had a beautiful day on 17th May 2025 at this gorgeous venue. My wife and I were treated like royalty by the amazing Simone and Maisie, who made our wedding day the best day of our lives. We had no concerns, and anything we needed, they were there to help us. The way they prepared our wedding room was superb, the food was out of this world, and the staff are first class. Very friendly and always keen to help and assist where needed. I would highly recommend the Rose and Crown for any future ventures and look forward to coming back next year for our anniversary.

Wow! we had an amazing wedding the surroundings were unbelievable which made for amazing photos. the team are friendly & helpful & all did such an amazing job from booking day to wedding day I felt so comfortable. we will continue to recommend the hotel to family & friends. the food was incredible & room was set up perfect! the bedroom was perfect for our night stay had everything we needed.

A big thank you to Maisie and the team for making our Wedding reception such a perfect day!! The Orangery was an idyllic room for our small event and Maisie used their and my decorations to make it look beautiful. The 3 course meal was delicious and many guests said how much they enjoyed it. To have the room until we wanted and be able to sit and relax and continue to talk after the meal and wedding cake made it such a relaxing and easy day. It made a very memorable occasion for us.

We had our wedding reception and evening at The Legacy Rose & Crown. Maisie and Simone were absolutely fantastic when it came to easing pre-wedding nerves! They were very understanding and compassionate—an absolute credit to the business! We took our favours and wedding decorations down the day before the wedding, and they set up the room beautifully. They were both able to bring my vision to life when it came to the room style and décor. Gave us the best day! We had our wedding at the Rose and Crown, and the staff were absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond. The venue is absolutely stunning, especially the gardens that look out to the cathedral and river, where you can do punting. The food was absolutely delicious. We had 80 guests, and they got it spot on, so many compliments on the food! Thanks, Rose and Crown, for giving us the best wedding and many precious memories.

From the initial enquiry to the end of our wedding reception, everything went smoothly and was stress-free, which was an achievement in itself as we only gave Simone, our wedding reception planner, a month’s notice. We had been to the Rose & Crown as guests at other weddings, so we knew this was a well managed venue, but when we had our visit with Simone, we were excited with the facilities & her enthusiasm and helpful ideas, we felt special. She met us on the day to check everything was going to plan and to ask if we needed anything, then introduced us to the staff who would continue to look after us up until midnight. All the staff were attentive and the buffet food was amazing and plenty of it!! So many of our guests were making positive compliments, especially about the food and venue (we used the room which had the bar and separate quiet room). Well done everyone, especially Simone, who was heavily pregnant on the day, which did not seem to lessen her desire to give us the best experience ever.

From the minute we made an appointment to go in and visit to the moment we left the next morning as a married couple, the Rose and Crown made our day so very special. We first visited in August 2022 for a wedding in October 2022, which is not a huge amount of time to plan a wedding. However, Katy (the events manager), made the experience seamless and within an hour of meeting her, we had a date and plan for a 30 person wedding ready to go. The Rose and Crown is set in a wonderful area of Salisbury and the backdrop against the river is a wonderful place to have a reception. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when we were there. One of the things we found very important was the communication between hotel and customer. Our emails were always answered promptly and our messages were passed on to the correct person as well. Although this seems obvious, we had dealt with places before who did not do this and this certainly made the experience far more pleasant. By the time the day arrived, Katy and her staff had everything in place and we arrived to a beautiful venue and wonderful reception. The food, which was picked from a pre-set menu, had a wide variety of options. They also were able to alter the food for some of our fussy guests and catered for a last minute addition to our reception who had a dietary requirement. The venue itself has wonderful character, we had the Orangery, which overlooked the gardens and river. A bar is available which is a short walk round through reception with plenty of options for drinks. In the evening, a resident DJ set up and the room was moved around to allow for a dance floor, this was what we wanted and made the experience even more enjoyable. As the bride and groom, we stayed overnight. The room was spacious, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. There was a buffet breakfast in the morning as well. Overall, the Rose and Crown, Katy and her staff were a big part of our day and making it so special.

We recently had our wedding at the hotel and I can honestly say we made the right decision to have it at the Rose and Crown. Katie the events manager and her team went above and beyond my expectations. The rooms looked AMAZING thanks to their hard work. ALL staff worked so hard in the evening too and were so friendly. Where do I start… To begin with there was a few ups and downs from the start of the booking (change of coordinators a few times) But when Katy took over my previous anxiety and fears disappeared and from the get go she made me feel at ease and that everything was in hand. And my god what an amazing day it was.. I arrived the day before and from the second I walked in I was attended to and looked after (even had all my belongings taken to my room for me so I could enjoy a drink at the bar) Katy was very involved the very next morning assisting with my flower and table dresser and even helped me with some last minute table plans changes. Katy was with me right up until I walked down the aisle- I was a blubbering mess. The hotel itself is such a beautiful idyllic setting inside and out. The river behind us was an added bonus if you want to capture the most amazing photos. The staff through our wedding was just exceptional and the food (bbq buffet) was just that delicious that we are even arranging another family get together next year. The feedback I had from all our family and friends was great and many looking forward to revisiting. I can’t recommend the Rose and Crown enough. So if you are looking into possibly getting married here - I can assure you that you will not be disappointed with Katy at hand. We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding day it was perfect! The venue was amazing, with so many areas for people to sit and relax and enjoy the day. The staff were outstanding in how they worked seamlessly to make the day run smoothly and Katy was such a great support, excellent communication skills and nothing was too much effort. I felt constantly reassured that with Katy in charge I had nothing to worry about! The food was incredible and presented beautifully. The afternoon tea was a huge hit with all our guests. My husband and I were lucky enough to get married at this beautiful venue in August 2021. The staff were very friendly and put us at ease and the food was excellent. From viewing the venue in 2018 and then having to rearrange the date several times due to Covid-19, Rachael Bruce the wedding coordinator was understanding, calm and professional and helped us plan the most amazing wedding day taking all the stress out of it. The day ran smoothly from start to finish, despite having to get married at a much earlier time. Rachael and the Rose and Crown were very adaptable. Due to Rachael's knowledge and expertise, she was able to guide us on wedding plans, even down to proper wedding etiquette. We truly loved our wedding day and are so grateful to the Rose and Crown and the team, there isn't anything we would change about our special day.

We can't thank The Legacy Rose and Crown enough for our amazing wedding reception. It really was very special. Due to covid we had to change our date and venue, like many couples, but we are so pleased we did. From the first moment we walked into The Legacy Rose and Crown we were met with exceptional customer service. It is a beautiful venue with an amazing setting by the river, and the cathedral in the background. Rachael Bruce was our wedding coordinator, and she made us feel very welcome from the start. She could not do enough for us. From start to finish she made all of our ideas become a reality, even giving us other suggestions we hadn't thought of. On our wedding day we got delayed by 45 minutes coming from our ceremony to the hotel. We rang ahead to pre-warn them and this did not fase them at all. They had no issues with this, and just shifted the timings for everything. When we eventually arrived we were not made to feel rushed by them at all, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Our three course wedding breakfast meal was really good. The food was exceptional and very good portion sizes. The time between each course was very good, so it never felt like they were rushing to get the next course out. The way they decorated our tables, on our behalf, with the bits we had dropped off, exceeded our expectations. All in all we couldn't praise the hotel enough. Rachael and all the staff went above and beyond. We would highly recommend this hotel to anybody thinking of having there wedding here. We will definitely be returning many times in the future.

Wow, what a venue to have a wedding. The support and planning assistance we received was amazing, and the actual wedding day went smoothly. It was just perfect. We had an outside ceremony and had decorated the wooden gazebo, which made for a beautiful setting next to the river especially with the cathedral view, which was featured in our wedding photos as a backdrop. Rachael was there to take us through each stage, and make sure that everyone was happy . It was truly seamless and picture perfect. Frank, at the restaurant, and Sharon, on the reception, are both a credit to the hotel, providing a friendly thorough service at all times. Our wedding really was amazing and I can't thank these guys enough for all they did to make sure we didn't have anything to worry about. The wedding breakfast was in the glass end of the restaurant, and as it was a sunny day, it was simply stunning. The food was delicious, and well served and attended to. Everyone had a hot meal without any waiting. The evening reception was brilliant. The DJ was spot on. Everyone was up dancing and having lots of fun. We also hired a photo booth, which added to the enjoyment too. Many of our guests complemented the evening buffet, and it must have been good as I hardly got a look in. All in all, we highly recommend this beautiful river location, with gardens and outside space to hold your wedding.

Five stars all around for Rachael and the team at The Legacy Rose and Crown Hotel. From the minute we booked wIth them they had great communication and let me know when everything needed to be done by. I sent endless emails with questions and add ons, and they would always reply fast and answer all of my questions. The lead up to the wedding was so stress free. Even dropping off the centre pieces and wedding extras was seamless, we left it for them to do and they placed everything perfectly. The wedding morning I thought I would be a bundle of stress but everything ran smoothly. We had a little bit of rain and Rachael knew I really wanted to have the outdoor wedding that I had planned, so she kept it going and luckily the rain went off! Throughout the whole day Rachael kept everything running smoothly, without us even knowing she was there! She worked so hard to make sure everything was how we wanted and it was above and beyond everything we had expected. I cannot RECOMMEND and thank The Legacy Rose and Crown Hotel enough and all the team. They made us feel so welcome and did everything they could to make the day as perfect as it was.

We finally had our wedding day at the Rose & Crown on Saturday 17th July. The day was absolutely beautiful, despite many last-minute changes due to covid restrictions. Our wedding coordinator Rachel was incredible & nothing was ever too much to ask. We want to thank all staff at the rose & crown for ensuring our day run smoothly, but the biggest thank you goes to Rachel, who delivered more than we could ever have wished for. The Hotel was a gorgeous backdrop for our wedding photographers. All of our guests made a point of complimenting how beautiful the hotel grounds were! I became Mrs Sullivan on Saturday 22nd of May 2021, and what a perfect day it was! We were so lucky with the weather. The garden was just so beautiful to have photos with the river and spire in the background. It was a great location for all of us to walk to the cathedral for more beautiful photos. Thanks to Rachael and her awesome team, the whole day ran so smoothly. The food was lovely too. I would do it all over again and would choose the Legacy Rose and Crown Hotel! We also had the cathedral suite for the night before and the night of the wedding, which was really nice. There was so much room for the wedding party to get ready in. We had a few extra people in there than planned, but that wasn't a problem with the size of the room. Breakfast the next morning was perfect too. So overall, we were well looked after on the day and leading up to the day. Rachael is a brilliant wedding coordinator. Thank you again for all your help and hard work to make our big day so special and perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better day!

Wow, what can I say?? Winners of the best wedding venue in Wiltshire award since 2016, and it is clear to see why? The events manager demonstrated her experience and professionalism with ease, ensuring that we had a fantastic wedding reception with no issues whatsoever. The location was absolutely fantastic. You would be in danger of missing out on the beautiful building and the picturesque garden, making the most stunning wedding photographs. With backdrops of the river Avon and Salisbury cathedral, we could not ask for any more. From servers, bar staff, chefs, reception, and the maintenance man, every staff member was professional, courteous, and knew their roles and responsibilities inside out. They were instrumental in ensuring that my wife and our guests had the best experience possible. Even with government restrictions in place with covid-19, the legacy rose, and the crown implemented safety measures to a high standard which had no impact on our enjoyment of the day. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, not one of our guests had a complaint, in fact, each and everyone commented on how lovely the food, hotel and atmosphere was. The honeymoon suite was beautifully prepared with a lovely little gift and heart-shaped rose petals for our arrival. I really can not recommend the legacy rose and crown enough. We genuinely had no problems whatsoever, and the hotel accommodated all our requests. Thank you, Rose and crown.
