There are not enough words to describe St Mellons hotel as a wedding venue It is outstanding the building is just as I dreamed it would be ,I loved the dinning room were We got married, it was nice and cosy with the fire burning it added to the christmas atmosphere as we got married there on the 6th of December 2014 . The staircase was fabulous to walk down, it gave me goosebumps and plenty of nerves .The bedroom we stayed in the night before was very spacious and comfortable with a large on suite ,also the bridal suite didn't disappoint it was fantastic, and made for some awesome photos our photographer took from the bridal suite of us through the window and the whole bridal party. The food was fabulous, everyone said how much they enjoyed it and the buffet in the reception was plentiful there was more than enough for everyone , it was delicious. The staff at the hotel were amazing nothing was to much trouble and the master oh ceremony's took Care of everything he was very professional and a really nice person too . The grounds at the hotel Are fantastic for photos especially by the fountain as it is all lit up at night also the drive way at the back Of the hotel the tress there made for some awsome photos our photographer took some black and white Pics they look almost ghostly . I cannot recommend this hotel enough it is 100% as a wedding venue I would love to do it all again thank you to all the staff at St mellons hotel For a magical day Mr & Mrs Borriello .

When you place the responsibility of your 60th birthday dinner party to someone else, you have to be sure you can trust them to fulfil your expectations, we all have different ideas of how things should look, how things are presented and hope your ideas don't get lost in translation.. I can honestly say that Jeni and the team at St Mellons, got me!!! They listened, they suggested and between us, I and my guests had the best night. Things ran military smoothly, the waiting staff were efficient, fast and friendly. Honestly, I'm not one for writing reviews but this team deserve one, they were brilliant. Thank you

I don't know how to thank Jeni and Beth enough. We knew we wanted to hold our reception at St Mellons Hotel and our first meeting with Jeni really was the icing on the cake. She made us feel like we were the only couple to ever get married, her attention to detail and knowledge is second to none. On the weeks leading up there are obviously so many questions and Beth and Jeni were always on hand to answer any questions you may have - big or small! Our actual wedding day could not have gone better - it was everything I wished for and more than I could have ever dreamed of! Beth was on hand to make sure the day went smoothly, her professionalism and her unobtrusive presence was such a calming reassurance. All of the staff were amazing, they all worked so effortlessly hard to make sure our day was perfect. I honestly cannot thank Jeni, Beth and all the staff at St Mellons Hotel enough.

Got married in St Mellons on Sun 24th August 2014. We looked at several locations but loved the venue and gardens but more importantly the attitude of the staff. You want to be looked after during your big day and I knew straight away that we would have that at St Mellons. We had such an amazing day. From start to finish. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Everything was perfect. I decided to do my own decor so went up the day before to show Jeni how I wanted the room set up and it was done exactly as I wanted it. The wedding planner made sure everything went smoothly. She kept coming to check everything was going ok and if we needed anything. We couldn't have asked for more. As you've not done it before you don't really know what to do but she made sure we knew what to do and when which put us both at ease. I loved the day so much I'd do it again tomorrow. Thanks for everything St Mellons. You made my wedding day as amazing as we wanted it to be. Keep up the good work xx

Jeni- Weddings & Events Sales Manager - at St Mellons Hotel & Spa - Heartfelt thanks for the Golden Wedding Anniversary luncheon party you arranged for us on 27th July 2014. As we mentioned to you, we held our Wedding Reception at St Mellons Country Club Hotel ( as it was then named ) 50 years ago in 1964 and then our Ruby Wedding Anniversary (40yrs.) - 10 years ago in 2004 and, of course, our very special Golden Wedding Party celebration just two weeks ago. On this occasion we had such a wonderful day - the weather was perfect and all our family and friends commented on the excellent food, the service provided and the beautiful Library room with its large oval table so tastefully presented. At the end of a perfect day we stayed overnight in the Bridal Suite! We would also like to mention the beautiful Hotel gardens which were all in full glorious bloom.

What an amazing day! From start to finish - all through the planning stages NOTHING was too much trouble. We were made to feel special, even though we know the venue does loads of weddings! The day itself went like a dream. ALL the staff were very professional - unobtrusive but ALWAYS on hand to help with anything. We are really impressed with the quality of the food and the service was second to none. A truly beautiful setting and a wonderful day! Would recommend without reserve, a number of guests made very positive comments too. Thank you!

We would like to thank all of the staff at the St.Mellons Hotel for the service they provided, before, during and after our wedding in May 2014. Everyone was so helpful and professional, the bridal suit and wedding suits were of a high standard and very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble and our function room was exquisitly decorated. The whole day was a huge success and our guests were very impressed with the service and menu options. Our day was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! A special thank you also to the lovely Wedding planner Jeni, for her incredible patience and for overseeing the event, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Our wedding took place on May 17th 2014, we had lovely weather and the venue was beautiful. Staff were helpful, friendly and very patient as things were running slightly behind. All our needs were attended to straight away and the day ran smoothly. The food was delicious and all our guests commented on how wonderful the day had been, some even saying it was the best wedding they had been to. The grounds of the hotel make for great pictures and we were lucky enough to have fantastic weather for it! Jeni and her team did a fantastic job and were always available to talk or meet to discuss any matters in the months leading up to the big day! It certainly was the best day we could have asked for!

We chose to celebrate our wedding reception April 2014 at St Mellons Hotel and Spa...the hotel setting is so lovely and my husband and i felt so welcome there every time we visited Jenni to discuss wedding plans and ask many questions!! Which iam sure Jenni must have heard them all before...but she always made time for us and answered all of our questions and reasured us with any worries... The hotel itself is a traditional building and fitted in with our vintage wedding theme.. nothing was to much trouble for Jenni and her staff ..even down to white table clothes on the outside tables!!! So lovely...it was all such a lovely experience from start to finish!! Our rooms were all clean and had everything that we needed in them...Room 29 our fantastic honeymoon suite was really lovely...comfy bed and huge bathroom!!! Breakfast really good to... some of our guests had 2nds and 3rds!! All in all the past year of planning our wedding has been stressfull at times but we would both say a big Thank You to Jenni and Beth for helping with our big day.they both made it amazing!!! We are pleased to be able to share our recent experience at The St Mellons Hotel & Spa. From the planning stages (which I enjoyed immensely as Jeni is so easy to work with and offers practical advice which is so helpful when there's so much to think about!) right through to the evening party. My bridesmaids and I stayed the night before and used the facilities as well as helping with the set up of the reception room. The staff were so kind and ensured the room was exactly as I wanted it for the next day. The hotel is professional but informal and this put us all at ease and not afraid to ask for anything. The day itself could not have been better. Everything was perfect. Beth, the weddings manager on duty, was so attentive at every step. Everything flowed so naturally, with no blips and the service was exceptional. The wedding breakfast was served on time with appropriate time in between courses with Beth keeping me 'in the loop' about minor changes and checks (speech order changes etc) Lunch was lovely and the change around for the evening party was seamless. Clive and I stayed in the hotel on the night of the wedding which was useful as we stayed at the party until the end. There were around 90 guests in the night and what a fantastic party. The bar staff, helpers, DJ and everyone involved did everything they could to ensure everyone had a great time. The bacon rolls and wedges were a great hit-obviously freshly made and still hot-our guests loved them. The rooms we used were clean with all the facilities one would expect. Breakfasts were also good. Overall, we would recommend this hotel as a great venue for your big day.

Hi Jeni, Just a quick email to say an ENORMOUS thank you to everyone at St. Mellons Hotel for making our wedding day a very special one. We had the most amazing time and felt so looked after and cared for, from the moment we all arrived and could not have asked for anything more from anyone. Looking back now, I don’t know why I was stressing soooooooooo much, as I really had nothing to worry about. Everything went perfectly and I would not change a thing about it. Beth, in particular I would like to make a special mention to. She was so professional and attentive and it was an honour to have her as our Master of Ceremonies. Our photographer was also full of praise for her and asked me to pass on her thanks and comments to Beth and her line manager, so that you would know what a delight she was to work with! Literally all of our guests commented on what a charming little hotel St. Mellons is and that despite showing obvious signs of age and crying out for investment, it is one of the nicest places they have stayed in and that is due mainly to the staff who work there and not just the beautiful grounds. Several of them mentioned in particular Charles, Kate on reception and Ceri, who were there not only during the wedding, but also the day before and after, as our guests were arriving and leaving. They all said how polite and cheerful they were and that nothing was too much trouble. This is so nice to hear as a member of staff myself, that guests do genuinely notice when we are providing an excellent service. They also commented on the quality and the variety of the food, especially the salmon and the lavender cheesecake, which although it took them a while to work out the flavour, they all loved it !! I really would like you to personally thank Paul, Joe and Mike for going the extra mile for me and for creating such lovely dishes. The food really was stunning and I think everyone went up for second and third helpings!! My photographer has taken some amazing photographs of the food and it all looks mouth-watering, the colours are so vibrant. I’m hoping you will wait for me to witness the sacrificial burning of my ridiculously big file and that you keep the legend of the ultimate Bridezilla alive and kicking for a long while to come. I am more than happy to forward you all of the photographs from our day if you wanted to use any for your marketing of future weddings, or to just shed a quiet tear over when you are having a private 5 minutes in the office…. Where do I start with this review? I will start with the hotel. Newly painted and looking stunning in the sunshine. The grounds well tendered, clean and tidy. Just what we needed for our wedding photos. Jeni and her staff were tremendous. Nothing was too much trouble for them from the time I arrived on the Thursday until my husband and I left on the Sunday. My wedding day went as smooth as butter due to the hard work put in by the staff. Liaising with the ushers and organising the guests. The food was delicious and served well. The chef catering for all the finicky guests including myself. The rooms were spacious, clean and tidy and again the housekeeping staff seen to all my requests promptly. My husband and my son enjoyed the use of the pool and spa facilities, spending some quality time together. The only complaint if you could call it that was in the night one of the fridges on the bar was not working and some of the drinks were warm and a couple of lamps had blown behind the bar which prompted some of the guests to raise the question as whether the bar was open. After getting married two weeks ago and having the reception at St. Mellons, we would thoroughly recommend the venue. As well as having excellent grounds for photographs, attending a menu and wine taster evening swung it for us - you know you will be fed well at this hotel! The Wedding Co-ordinator was very helpful, ensured that we covered all bases during our meetings and answered any queries we had promptly via email. Although we were a bit concerned when told she couldn't be there on the day, the Operations Manager did a sterling job at keeping the day on track. One of our guests fell ill due to the heat and needed medical attention and he provided regular updates without being intrusive on the meal, which was greatly appreciated. The reception room was well presented and the catering staff were very polite and efficient. Many of our guests - both meat-eaters and vegetarians - commented on the quality of the meal and buffet (try the risotto, it's fantastic)! During the evening, the hotel DJ made a point of playing songs we had pre-requested and there were no hitches with playing our first dance song whatsoever. He was very friendly and accommodated other people's requests on the night, too. We would particularly like to thank Bethany (we believe this is her name!!), who not only looked after us whilst the Operations Manager attended to our guest who had fallen ill, but who also came to our rescue at the end of the night when we had forgotten to collect our room key from reception (Night Porter did not answer the 'phone, the only downside for us!). The Bridal Suite was fantastic and we enjoyed our continental breakfast in our room. The Reception/Housekeeping staff gave us the remains of our wedding cake when we checked out and we have just found out that the Wedding Co-ordinator has been looking after our seating plan, which we will collect very soon. Thank you very much, St. Mellons, for helping to make our wedding day memorable and special :)

The St Mellons Hotel and Spa went beyond expectations for our special day. The venue is beautiful and the grounds provided us with fairytale photographs we could never have dreamed of. On the day the staff were exceptional - Managers Lee and Beth went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect, and ensured the day ran seamless. Even our guests commented on their professionalism and dedication to their vocation. The bar staff were also brilliant (special mention to Charles) and made us feel like royality. I would recommend this venue to any bride and groom who are looking for Countryside perfection, but close enough to the amenities of Cardiff for travelling guests. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding.

The venue was perfect for us in beautiful surroundings. The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout the whole day delivering a first class service. Food was of a high standard, with all guests enjoying the menu. The wedding preperations were made very simple by experienced, polite, helpful co-ordinators and managers who made us feel relaxed. Very approachable and ameniable to any requests. We managed to carry out the whole process within a total of approx 4 weeks which was truly amazing really and would not have been possible without their generous and calm support. Feedback from our guests was very positive with many of them feeling that it truly was a day of an exceptionally high standard and giving a lovely relaxed feeling yet retaining the aurora of being at a prestigous venue. Rooms were very nice and all family and friends that stayed as guests over the weekend were very happy. We were over the moon with our day and we couldn't thank the staff enough. We would definetly recommend others to hold their weddings here also, as they truly made our perfect day.

From the outset the whole experience of organising our wedding was made brilliant by St Mellons, everything was clearly mapped out for us, we had plenty of options for everything. The wedding co-ordinator, Jeni, was fantastic, and the staff on the actual day I couldn't fault at all. They made us feel very special, even the day after when having Sunday lunch we were still the centre of everything which was lovely. Food and drink was exactly what we wanted, they even made me a cocktail of sorts for when I arrived as I don't drink. Thank you so much for everything St Mellons.

I held my wedding at the St Mellons Hotel and Spa on 24th November 2012. As my husband and I had previously been married and we were more of a "mature" couple, we wanted a small non fuss wedding. Jeni and her her wonderful staff went to all lengths to make sure we had a lovely day. I would highly recommend the Hotel, not just for the mature couple but for any couple who gets married in the winter. The surroundings of the Hotel are beautiful on a clear day but in my case it was teaming with rain but the interior of the hotel are just as lovely as my wedding photographs proved. Every little girl dreams of their fairy tale wedding and I can honestly say St Mellons hotel gave me that day. The service we received both leading up to and on the day of the wedding was second to none. Both myself, my husband and our guests were overwhelmed by the way that we were treated and welcomed by Jeni and everybody at the hotel. They dealt with any issues with minimal fuss and ensured that everything on the day ran without a hitch, even when my groom split his trousers somebody was on hand to sew them.
