After a memorable proposal, we just knew it had it be Fota Island Resort for the wedding reception. Valentines night was our first night staying there, but the next morning we met some of the team and checked out the function room. We knew from the beginning they’d do a great job. Ciara Greene was our wedding coordinator and she gave us the best advice and support. We really enjoyed dealing with Ciara, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel reception was everything we hoped for and so much more. Ciara and all the team did a super job. The food was outstanding and everyone seemed to really enjoy the day.

Ciara and the wedding team at Fota were excellent and lead to us having a very stress free wedding day. Nothing was ever an issue and they came back to our emails and queries promptly. The food and staff on the day were exceptional and a lot of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food and day. Nothing seemed a chore and Patricia always went above and beyond to help, not only on the day but the months leading up to the big day. The venue as a whole was beautiful. A lot of our guests travelled from the UK or other parts of Ireland and we were all welcomed and looked after throughout our entire stay. From the reception staff to the concierge to the bar staff we could not praise them enough. We received wonderful feedback from family and friends about the the food and service. Could we have chose a better venue for our wedding- absolutely not!! We cannot wait to return. Thanks to everyone involved. You made our special day all the more special.

I could not fault Fota in any way throughout the whole planning process, any query was responded to quickly and no query was ever silly or too small. Katie was so flexible and accommodated all of our requests. We were thrilled to have our wedding in Fota and the day was seamless thanks to Katie and the team's attention to detail.

We had an amazing wedding at Fota Island, we would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married in Ireland. All the staff were amazing in helping us prepare for our day and on the day they were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and every need was catered for. All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was and that the service was flawless. We also had our post wedding party BBQ at the Club house in Fota, the setting here is beautiful and once again the food was amazing. Unfortunately our planned entertainment let us down on the day, upon telling the manager of the Club house this, alternative entertainment was arranged by Fota and the musician arrived within 30 minutes. Exceptional service. Couldn't recommend this venue highly enough. We had the best weekend. Thank you.

On the day of the wedding everything went really well, we were delighted with it. The food was fantastic and the service was brilliant, we had loads of compliments on both. I think one big difference between Fota and other places we've been at weddings is the amount and quality of the waiting staff, they were excellent. The residents bar stayed going well in to the morning too which was great! The BBQ was great too and we were well looked after, one small comment is that the wedding cake never made it down to the Golf club, by the time we realised it wasn't there people had already left the food area so we left it off. Anyway we were pretty stuffed after the BBQ so no big deal. Thanks for all your help Patricia you were great. I'm sure we might cross paths at some stage, no doubt someone at our wedding will have decided Fota is the place for their wedding so I'm sure we'll be back before too long.

We had the most amazing wedding and are still smiling at the thoughts of it. We got engaged in October 2016 and booked Fota in January 2017. We were between two venues in Cork and brought our parents down to view them both. The other venue was fab and the wedding coordinator was a true sales woman! We then went on to you - you were not focused on the sale, but on our wedding. Our day, our weekend - you focused on what we wanted. Our parents tried to be impartial - however when my Dad took out his camera in Fota and started to take pictures we knew there was no comparison! The attention to detail was second to none and my Dad is still raving about how the biscuits were laid out at the drinks reception!! Something minute to us but he was well impressed! We are so so glad with our decision - nothing was ever too much of an ask and you had a solution for everything. Our guests had an absolute ball and we are still smiling thinking back to it. The BBQ on day 2 was fab at the golf club - the food and the views. It really topped off an amazing weekend and was great to catch up with all our guests. A lot of our guests travelled from Dublin/Wicklow/Kildare so made a weekend out of it. The lodges were super for this - Sarah Jane and the rest of the accommodation team were so helpful. The concierge also kindly dropped guests home from the resident's bar to their lodge so they didn't have to even make the short walk!! When I heard you were due a baby in the middle of my wedding plans I must admit there was a bridezilla moment!! But Katie made sure everything was seamless and nothing amiss in your absence or on your return! The 5 star friendly service is exactly what you get with Fota - we would highly recommend it to others and are excited to come back already. Thanks again for everything - we really had a ball and no doubt wrecked your head at times!!

Thank you all very much for making our wedding day last week so much fun! It really was the greatest 2 days ever. Louise and I could not have asked for a better wedding. Your focus on the customer, attention to detail, empathy and patience is of a level I have never seen before and it made for a very smooth and easy process of planning our wedding day with you. You never let on that any of our demands were totally outrageous, and you always had the right answer to keep the show on the road. The hotel staff are of the highest standard in the country, I have no doubts about that – from Paddy and the lads at the concierge desk, through to John O’Flynn GM, Will and the restaurant staff, Tomasz and the banqueting team and the room service teams – everyone always happy to chat and help – not once were we met with ‘No, we can’t do that’ – the answer was always positive – And it made our 4 day stay so much more relaxed. Honestly we are both still beaming since the big day! It was the best weekend of our lives, thanks in no small part to your hard work. When we are back visiting Fota in the very near future (because it has now become standard to call in for a coffee whenever we are in Cork!), we hope to catch you again for a quick hello!

Katie, the wedding planner was easy to contact and extremely helpful. It was appreciated only having one person to speak to. Great attention to detail throughout and a high quality of food and house wines. Good menu selection and flexibility with numbers options. Really like how the wedding party is separated from the rest of the wedding. Small details such as providing a shuttle for guests to the church when we had not pre-arranged that is very much noticed and appreciated. Would like to say a huge thank you to Katie and her team. Our wedding in Fota was so much better than we ever could imagine with so many extra touches throughout the day and during the build-up.

Wedding planner Katie was exellent, very efficient, very good at her job and on top of all that a very nice person. Food and beverage Tomas also excellent, he ran the dinner service like a well oiled machine. All your staff were excellent on the night, well trained and well mannered but a special mention had to go to Katie an Tomas, they are a credit to the hotel and I hope a valued asset!!!"

The Fota wedding team were amazing to work with, no request was too great. They were extremely flexible & supportive in the build up to our special day. We particularly enjoyed working with our allocated wedding planner Katie Sheehan who was phenomenal. The overall service provided on our wedding day itself was second to none as was the accommodation. We are truly delighted that we selected Fota as our venue & would definitely recommend it to other couples!

On April 6th 2017 @ the Clubhouse in the Fota Island Resort we held our wedding for 70 guests and what an incredible day it was. Just Superb! From the outset when we booked and started planning the wedding we were looked after every step of the way by Rachel Bennett one of the hotels resident wedding planners who is extraordinary. She helped, guided, coaxed and gave advice that ultimately ensured that our big day was stress free and amazing not only for us but also for our guests. In the run up to our big day there was also a Menu Tasting arranged to allow us sample the various food options that will help decide the wedding menu. Oh My God – it was incredible – we needed to be lifted out after sampling the various dishes and the standard was amazing. Be sure to also sample the wines – Just Great!. Bertie was our waiter for the evening (and this is not by accident) but was also our waiter for the top table and he was especially good at looking after our 3 children. They loved him, whatever they wished for I’m afraid to admit they ‘got’! For the day itself we were spoilt, our own little decoration touches were accommodated, our own photographer Declan Gleeson and singer Orla McCarthy were both great. The Registrar Catherine Noonan was fantastic, she was very obliging, made it lovely, intimate & memorable. The Ceremony room was beautifully decorated, the ceremony itself was very special, the wonderful views of the Golf Course while we were having our canapés (to die for) after the ceremony were amazing, the wedding menu and quality was top class and the seamless move from eating to our entertainment seemed to happen very quickly and efficiently that it is a credit to the hotel and to the staff and of course Aidan the Clubhouse Manager. The Honeymoon Suite was divine – only wish we could have had more time to enjoy it – also loved the Bride and Groom Bathrobes – a lovely surprise! Fota afforded us an absolutely amazing day – from beginning to end it was tailored

From the first day that we visited Fota we were treated with great efficient service, courtesy and enthusiasm . Their wedding packages were so comprehensive and even allowed for us to tailor aspects of our package . No request was too big even up to the day. All dietary and special requests were welcomed and delivered! As many of our guests stayed for two nights they all raved about the service and attention to detail . Our day was amazing from food décor, friendliness, staff manner and planning everything was very impressive . Management and staff and Fota went beyond the norm to ensure we had a place to stay and to get us to the airport during storm ophelia ! Couldn't recommend Fota enough The quality of the treatment we received was matched by the quality of the food and meal service. It exceeded its billing as a 5 star resort.
