We had the most amazing day at the Maryborough. The support and guidance that we received from Mary, Ellis, Roisin and the team in the lead-up to the big day was incredible. On the day itself, Claire and her team were outstanding and did all the thinking for us - all we had to do was relax and enjoy the day. From the prosecco on arrival, to the drinks reception and onto the main reception, everything was exceptional. Our wedding photos in the beautiful gardens are something we will cherish. We have nothing but positive things to say about our experience having our wedding reception at the Maryborough. All the planning was professional and smooth. The wedding coordinator, Ellis, was fabulous to work with. On the day, we were very well looked after, we were greeted very nicely by management and staff, and assigned lovely staff to look after us for the day. Our guests also spoke positively of the hotel.

From start to finish the Maryborough were top class. Anything we asked for was no hassle, we could call/email with any queries and our minds were set at ease straight away. We didn’t need to worry about the flow or set up on the day the guys are such experts and the day couldn’t have gone any better. Literally couldn’t fault, if you’re thinking about it- just book you won’t regret it!!

We recently got married in the Maryborough, the communication with the wedding team was fantastic from the minute we booked right through to the wedding day. They were more than helpful and quickly responded to any questions we had. From the moment we arrived for our wedding, we felt so looked after by all the Maryborough staff, especially Roisin, John and Claire. The hotel was beautiful, the gardens were phenomenal in the sunshine, our reception was set up outside, a cooling station with cool cloths and suncream were provided and all our guests had a great experience at the hotel. The staff worked so hard and are a credit to the hotel. The food was gorgeous and we received so many compliments about it. There was plenty of food in the evening meal too. We couldn’t fault anything from our experience and are so grateful to everyone we met along the way

The attention to detail was superb, the enthusiasm and consideration to the bridal party was outstanding. Claire, Johannes were unbelievable in their roles. It’s rare to see employees who do that little bit extra for customers. When our post box was tardy in delivery, Johannes offered to craft one for us… Claire directed her staff with quiet organization, being many steps ahead of our needs. The food, oh my… our guests were absolutely overwhelmed by the quality and quantity… the soup and baked Alaska were the rockstars of the meal. We are still hearing accolades from our guests! Paudy and I recently had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our wedding at the stunning Maryborough Hotel on April 24th, 2025, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. Our final details appointment truly highlighted their commitment to making our day special – there was genuinely nothing they wouldn’t do to ensure everything was exactly as we envisioned. She was a true gem! On the day itself, the team at the Maryborough truly shone. Claire, the banqueting manager, was especially amazing. Her attentiveness and kindness towards us and all our guests were exceptional. Every single member of staff we encountered was fantastic – so attentive and kind. We've had so many guests comment on how friendly and accommodating Claire and the entire team were, as well as how beautiful the hotel itself is. We had the most amazing wedding day, and a huge part of that is down to the incredible staff at the Maryborough, especially Roisin, Claire, and Mary. They went above and beyond to make our day truly unforgettable. We were absolutely delighted with everything on our day. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond at every opportunity to ensure our day was perfect. I must have had their heads wrecked with emails on the lead up but Roisin was super helpful the whole time! Claire was a brilliant presence on the day, kept everyone calm and handled any hiccups seamlessly. John and Johannes also couldn't do enough for us and our guests. And Carmel handled all the room bookings seamlessly. We had the most peaceful and relaxing morning in the bridal suite getting ready and nothing was going to stop the groom from stressing that morning but a dip in the pool beforehand helped a bit! Every detail was taken care of with such care and professionalism. The venue looked absolutely stunning, even more beautiful than we had imagined. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how much they enjoyed everything – from the food to the service to the rooms themselves and everyone made use of the spa the next morning. We especially loved how the dancefloor is right next to the bar-kept the party going well into the night! We truly couldn’t recommend them enough. Thank you for making our special day unforgettable!

Our wedding day was an absolute dream at the Maryborough Hotel & Spa! Everything was absolutely amazing on the day! Ellis was fantastic to deal with it from our very first meeting to the day itself! It was a wonderful experience and all the staff on the day were brilliant. I would have my wedding there again in a heartbeat and would be delighted to attend a wedding there as a guest!!

A year on from our wedding in 2023 the compliments from family and friends are once again flowing. The main topic is always the food: "Best wedding food I've ever had"; "Scallops at a wedding?!"; "I'm still dreaming about the fillet of beef"; "What a meal, indulgent and brilliant!"; "superb attention given to my significant dietary requirement", and so on. Truly exceptional and really what differentiates a Maryborough wedding from all other venues - it's not even close. In addition, the beauty of the orangery was much-complimented. "Fairytale-esque", "unique"; and "just beautiful" are common themes, as well as the generosity of the canapé selection. A perfect place for a wedding ceremony and drinks reception (even with the August rain!). Guests really enjoyed the separation of both the orangery and the ballroom from the rest of the hotel ("it felt like you had rented your own private gorgeous venue"), but also the proximity to the resident's bar (to escape for a quiet conversation and drink when the party really got going)! To give some personal reflections on our truly special and wonderful day: - Claire: what an incredible job in running the day. Absolutely nailed it. Her constant attention to detail did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. We think she has some form of mind-reading abilities, anticipating people's needs before people even realised what they needed themselves! - Mary: We could not have asked for a better person to coordinate everything. A fountain of knowledge - very accommodating but not scared to tell you if something doesn't seem quite right in your planning. Exactly what was needed, and it always felt like we were sitting down with a favourite Aunt to plan our day. A master at destressing an anxious bride, especially when trying to plan from abroad. All in all, a perfect day, which a lot of people have claimed is the best wedding they've ever attended, and all made possible by Maryborough and its staff - who are truly something special. We can't wait to come back for our anniversary celebrations!

This review is long overdue as last year Colin and I had the most wonderful wedding imaginable at the Maryborough. We had our ceremony and drinks reception in the beautiful Orangerie, followed by dinner and dancing in the ballroom. Not only was the venue stunning (we had our wedding photographs taken outside in the wooded area), but all of the staff were amazing. Ellis and Kieran were so helpful when it came to planning the day, helping us with everything from menu choices to entrance songs. All the staff went above and beyond to ensure our day ran smoothly despite the typical Irish rain that required some last-minute adjustments. The two things that everyone still talks about from the day were the band (we booked the Bentley boys) and the food. Every single course was delicious, from the starters and sorbet to the desert - the vegetable soup is still the nicest soup I have ever had. The following day, we had afternoon tea in the drawing room with close family and friends, which was a wonderfully sweet ending to our celebrations. We also chose to stay an extra night in the wedding suite, which I would 100% recommend, so you get some time to enjoy the spa and the amazing facilities there. I can't thank everyone at the Maryborough enough for helping make our special day so wonderful, and we can't wait to return for our anniversary dinner!

We got married in Maryborough in July and honestly cannot recommend it enough. The minute we went to view the Maryborough, we knew it was the venue for our wedding. We were instantly impressed at how welcoming the staff were and what a beautiful venue it is. We knew we wanted to have our ceremony and reception in the same venue. The orangery was the perfect location for our ceremony. It is so beautiful inside, and the view out to the garden is gorgeous. Lucky for us, the sun came out, allowing us to have our drinks reception outside in the garden. We also had our photos taken in the garden, as it provided the perfect backdrop. This also meant we didn't have to be away from our guests and drinks reception for long. Our reception in the Sherrard Suite was beautifully decorated. The food and wine were a massive hit with all our guests, and there was no problem catering to any guests with dietary requirements. So many guests told us what a wonderful day they had from start to finish, and that really goes down to all the staff at Maryborough. They were all so helpful and friendly, and the day/night ran smoothly. Thanks to them. Ellis, the wedding coordinator, was absolutely incredible. She is so calming, and her knowledge is invaluable to us. We never once had to worry about anything, as Ellis was always two steps ahead of us and could answer any questions we had. Knowing she had everything under control really put our minds at ease, and it definitely helped our nerves on the big day. We can't thank everyone at Maryborough enough. They really went above and beyond for us, and we just wish we could do it all over again, as it really was the best day ever.

We celebrated our wedding in the Maryborough Hotel last year. The whole experience, from the initial viewing to the big day, was absolutely amazing. The team are outstanding and Ellis was so helpful throughout, no request was too big or small! It was a really stress-free experience. As for the day itself, the team could not have done more for us. In particular, Donough and Brian. We had such a beautiful and fun day. Our guests were very impressed and especially commented on the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. We are so happy that we picked Maryborough as our venue and would not change any aspect of our experience.

Our initial search for hotel venues took us all around the country, and we couldn't really find a venue we both agreed on. However, as soon as we walked through the Maryborough, we both knew straight away, this was the venue. Our first meeting with Ellis was phenomenal, she was professional, knowledgeable, cheerful and warm. We locked in our date and were so excited. Every interaction with Ellis and the wedding team from then on was amazing. I was honestly blown away with how helpful everyone was. No request too big, no questions left unanswered. Ellis was honestly like our personal wedding planner, she was exceptional! I always felt when I contacted the team , my query was answered so promptly, I was honestly made feel like our wedding was the only one happening that year! That's how dedicated the staff are. During our menu tasting we met with more of the wedding staff, who again just blew us away with our friendly & amazing they were. Then when we arrived at the venue the night before the wedding, again we were made feel so special and we felt at ease. ( There was even a wedding happening that day too) On the actual wedding day itself, everything was honestly so flawless. There had been a few set-up things I was worried about on the day, but Donough had absolutely everything covered and made me feel at ease and relaxed. I cannot recommend the Maryborough enough as a wedding venue. It is a stunning hotel; the orangery is beautifully unique for your drinks reception, and the ballroom is modern and tasteful. The suites are stunning, and the grounds are immaculate. The food is absolutely exceptional and second to none. However it was not the venue alone that drew us in, honestly it was Ellis and the wedding team that had us captivated. Professional, friendly and, above all else, flawless! Rob and I got married here on 10th Feb 2024. Ellis, the wedding coordinator, is the most fantastic person to have look after every fine detail of your wedding day. She went through packages, menu tasting, and the extras we wanted to include, and the day went so smoothly and perfectly—what a dream. Claire and Brian looked after us on the day of the wedding, making sure we were all on time for the ceremony, pictures, and reception evening. They are lovely, friendly staff. We have received so many compliments on what a fantastic day it was, and it was definitely down to a fantastic team and stunning venue. Guests with dietary requirements also expressed gratitude for the variety and for not having the same basic meal they had in other places. 5*, not one complaint. Thank you

Beautiful venue and gorgeous wedding suite! The staff at the Maryborough were so attentive to us and our guests and accommodated every request we had. Ellis, in particular, was a pleasure to deal with and helped us with every detail, including suggestions for suppliers. The food and drink were of such a high standard - so many of our guests were so complimentary of the meal and canapés. We were impressed by the value for money, and the complementary gym membership before the wedding was a lovely touch. We couldn’t recommend the Maryborough highly enough!

Magical Maryborough. Must-see venue. We were married in March and everything was marvellous. Ellis was a dream to deal with and everything she promised was delivered by the team with elegance and effortless professionalism. The Orangery was gorgeous for our ceremony and perfect for dinner and dancing for our small wedding. The whole venue was photographed beautifully. Our guests remarked on the exquisite food & wine, the quality of the service from very friendly staff and also the character of the venue itself. Better than perfect. My now husband and I got engaged in the Maryborough, the staff on the night were so excited for us, they felt like friends and the hotel quickly became a special location for us. A friend of ours asked if we were going to get married there too and recommended we meet Ellis, their amazing Wedding Coordinator, needless to say, Ellis could answer any question, provided supplier recommendations, help us outline the day from start to finish. We'd pop in for a coffee, lunch or a celebratory dinner. In the midst of Covid, the hotel went above and beyond to help us reschedule and make sure we kept the planning magic and excitement. We stayed the night before the wedding and got separate rooms to be somewhat traditional! Getting ready in the hotel was so relaxing and it meant from the second we drove down the hill, we could enjoy the wedding build up. I had crept down the stairs of the main house to peep out a window to see my husband and his groomsmen getting ready on their balcony, the wedding photographers had given me a heads up, and they were there - it's a fantastic photo and memory now. Our bridal party and families loved the hotel and my heart burst with happiness (and maybe nerves) when the doors to the Orangery opened and it was full of our friends and family. The Orangery is like something that comes to life out of a fairy tale storybook, full of light, flowers, candles and honestly, the photos from there are all more beautiful than the last. The drinks reception was hosted there and the room carries music and laughter like you've never experienced. The wedding meal was in the banquet room and the tone and setting changing to soft lights, chandeliers and fairy branches at the entrance is exquisite. Our guests raved about the food (and the wine), and, the staff on the floor, bar and entire hotel couldn't have been more helpful. We danced the night away with our friends and families, I couldn't recommend the Maryborough highly enough, it is a dream venue.

The Maryborough Hotel & Spa did an absolutely incredible job in hosting our wedding. We had a mixed-religion ceremony with a Hindu wedding and a Catholic wedding. The Maryborough was incredibly interested in ensuring both weddings were special and done as well as possible. The food was great, the venue was fun, Ellis (our wedding coordinator at the Maryborough) was just the greatest, and overall we really loved the location. The Orangery and the lawns made for perfect backdrops for our events, and the staff even allowed us to use non-ordinary locations like the fountain in the front yard, which they got deep cleaned prior to our event. Aside from the events, the spa is incredible and all of our guests loved it.

We had a superb wedding day in the Maryborough on 11/11/23. We really enjoyed the special day. The bride, groom & the wedding party got a beautiful welcoming reception in the foyer from all the managers on duty. It was a great start to our time in the hotel. Everybody loved the drinks & food reception in the Orangery. The meal in the Sherrard Room was outstanding & we were very well looked after by all the staff.
