Most amazing venue! The wedding team and staff were absolutely incredible on our wedding day from start to finish and they could not have done a better job! The guests absolutely loved the lake cruise and it was a lovely surprise to reveal to them on the day. The food was incredible!! The day was absolutely full of love and joy and Cragwood will be a place that we both remember for the rest of our lives! If you're considering choosing Cragwood for your wedding I highly recommend that you do as you will have the best time!!

Lakeshore Wedding! We had a Just us elopement wedding, March 2026. The day couldn’t have gone any better, sun was shinning throughout the day. Hannah was a massive help in making the day stress free. Coming to check on us while getting ready, helping getting into our dresses and setting up that first look moment. The food was to die for, spoilt for choice! The afternoon tea was really cute and a great experience. The room was the nicest we have stayed in, The bed was super comfortable. All staff were lovely and welcoming. We have just celebrated our wedding reception at Cragwood. The hotel team were fantastic - great service, the food was so good, and the venue was just beautiful. The wedding coordinators were really helpful, and they decorated the reception areas beautifully for us, and we also had a lovely lakes cruise with canapes and drinks. Such a lovely experience. We had a wonderful three days with our friends and family and our much loved Border Collie who was made welcome with his own doggy treats. Thank you to team Cragwood.

We spent 2 nights at Cragwood for a ‘just us’ wedding on the 22nd December. It was amazing from start to finish. Booking the wedding was easy and the wedding coordinator was in touch via email. Melissa and Hannah responded promptly to any of my questions I had and I felt like I hardly had to do anything! On arrival, we were greeted by a member of staff who made us feel welcome . The rooms and food was beautiful throughout our stay and all our family and friends couldn’t ask for more. On the day of the wedding, everything was very relaxed. We were told what time we needed to be ready for and that was it! Everything was done for us! The weather was perfect and our photos clearly showed. Recommendation to Tiree our Wedding Photographer, absolutely amazing woman who captured every single moment. The day flowed perfectly and was just amazing! We had our wedding in this fabulous place on NYE 2025. It is a beautiful old traditional building in the most wonderful lake side location. The wedding coordinators, Hannah and Mathilda looked after us with so much care and attention before, during and after our wedding. We had a number of visits and meetings beforehand and nothing was too much trouble for them. We attended an open day where we got to look at every room in the hotel. This assured us all our guests were getting a quality room to stay in. The bridal suite is exceptional, the four poster bed, comfy arm chairs, lots of space for the wedding morning hair and makeup. Plus the views of the lake and fells from two side of the room were amazing. We booked an exclusive use package and were fortunate enough to have the same for the pre wedding night too, as enough of our guests booked for two nights. This was a special time for our guests to chat and mix with each other in a cosy setting. The food is impressive and delicious, starting with the pre-wedding night Italian buffet, we booked for all our guests. Then the wedding day canapés, main meal and evening hot buffet were all served with precision. All our guests that booked told us how much they’d enjoyed the food, which was indeed superb. I was very nervous and anxious in the lead up to our wedding but on our arrival at venue, we were met with a hug from Stacey the Hotel Manager and Hannah and Mathilda. That meant so much, after that we felt totally welcome and at home. We relaxed from that moment and had the most perfect four days there. Stacey runs a wonderful hotel, where every member of the Cragwood team was friendly and helpful to us and all our guests.

Just the two of us wedding From the initial contact with Hannah the wedding coordinator, our wedding organisation was seamless We chose the Just the two of us package It was everything we could have hoped for and more for our intimate wedding. They provide witnesses as well. We were made so welcome and every member of staff were so kind,friendly and the service was outstanding We felt so relaxed and all our nerves disappeared on the day and everything was perfect. The ceremony was beautiful and we loved the humour injected into our vows and how we were made feel so special. The registrar from Westmorland and Furness was superb and created moments we'll never forget and completely put us at ease Food was exceptional and the setting was stunning....the bridal suite is gorgeous with views of the lake and the grounds breathtaking. Being Christmas the inside of the hotel is decorated beautifully and at points it felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves This is the perfect venue for an intimate wedding and you can even bring your dog or extra guests if you wish. They do organise larger weddings as well The grounds are stunning and amazing wedding photos can be taken....we took a tripod and took our own photos which was fun and allowed us to be more relaxed (even in the rain) We had very simple needs and were always made feel so special and the whole team were so attentive while respecting our space and privacy Memories we will treasure forever

The perfect wedding This June, my husband and I got married at Cragwood. Our wedding was beautiful, and the bridal suite is stunning. We were lucky enough to have it outside in the pristine gardens, followed by a lake cruise from the jetty. The hotel staff were flawless and organised, and our guests had a wonderful time. The food was superb. Planning the wedding was a brilliant and stress-free process; the coordinators answered every question I had with speed. I highly recommend Cragwood to any couple looking for a gorgeous venue with amazing service and food. Thank you so much to all the staff who made our wedding day perfect. We will be back again and again and again.

I would like to start my review by saying that if I could give it 6 stars, I would. Far exceeded all my expectations in all aspects. I think it's tremendous value for money. We had a "micro-wedding" on the 14th of July, with the Cragwood "micro-wedding" package for 20 people. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I don't think I ever had an experience where the entire crew, from the reception and bar staff to wedding planners and administrators, were so nice. The photographer Tiree, whom the venue recommended, was absolutely amazing, as well as the registrars. Humorous and professional, they kept us at ease and made the ceremony feel warm and pleasant. Cragwood was very responsive and guided us all the way through, even pre-ceremony. They promptly answered all our questions, made great suggestions and gave us plenty of options. And throughout the stay, everything was so well organised. It rained, so we had our ceremony inside, which was lovely, and they can make a decision an hour before where to have it. The room allocation for us and guests was such that we booked out most of one of the hotel wings, so it felt as if we had the place exclusively to ourselves. All of the rooms are very, very nice, but the view from the bridal suite and adjacent rooms was just incredible. The food was very tasty, especially the rack of lamb that I had on the day of the ceremony. The package included breakfast and two dinners - all were outstanding. We have also separately booked an afternoon tea on the ship, which was also amazing. We all loved it and are looking forward to coming back for our anniversary next year. For the week after, we had already booked a mini-moon stay in a more expensive hotel in Keswick, but if I had known how much I would enjoy Cragwood, we would have just booked it instead. The other place wasn't even close, especially considering the price. This is probably the longest review I have ever written, but these guys deserve it.
