Ours was a small family wedding, nevertheless, the whole day was magical thanks to the team at Briery Wood. From the very first appointment through to the end nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb, expertly presented, waiters were attentive but not obtrusive. Hotel is clean and welcoming. The only fau!t I can find is the potholes in the driveway. A special mention to Sarah and Ellie, the Wedding Planners, who made sure all our requests were honoured and carried out without any hitch, we cannot thank them enough.

We opted for the Just Us package and had a few close family members present with us and our puppy. He really enjoyed himself. The only place that he wasn’t allowed to go into was one part of the dining room. The hotel staff rearranged the furniture so that he would be allowed to stay with us in the other part of the dining area on our first night. The room was lovely and spacious, and the food was delicious. We were lucky that we got to do our wedding ceremony outside; the grounds were immaculate with beautiful flowers and a perfectly kept lawn. We had a beautiful ceremony, and the staff were extremely helpful and supportive throughout our stay. If you want a small package Wedding, then I would really recommend this because it was perfect for us. We didn’t have the stress and hassle of organising a big wedding. We didn’t have to think about a lot of things that people have to consider when they are planning their own event because the very experienced team took care of all of those things for us.

My partner and I chose to have exclusive use of Briery Wood over a Friday & Saturday for our wedding. Neither of us felt any stress during the 12 month lead up to our special day as Sarah was always at the end of the phone or email to answer any of our queries. Any question we asked she would always get back to us within 24 hours and nothing was ever too much of an ask. By the end of our wedding weekend, she felt more like a friend than a member of staff. All the staff at Briery truly felt like an extension of our family; embracing the day and doing all they could to ensure everybody was enjoying themselves. We hadn’t had the opportunity to eat at Briery prior to our wedding day, so was unsure as to what to expect with the food. Well, all guests commented how exceptional both the service and the taste of the food was. The beef was the best we have ever tasted! All dietary requirements were taken on board, even to the smallest requests such as no dates in the sticky toffee pudding. It was important to us that our wedding venue felt like a real home from home with family being sure to relax in the wonderful Lake District. Briery Wood did not sure fall short of our expectations and in fact way surpassed them. Thank you to the team, you’re incredible at what you do!

We had the all-inclusive wedding package, and it was faultless. Our wedding went better than we had planned and expected. The beauty of the all-inclusive is being able to have everything catered for, BUT still being able to inject your own personality into it if you so wish. We did put our spin on things and added our own touches, and all was just taken care of by the wonderful staff; nothing was ever too much trouble. We had exclusivity from Friday morning until Sunday morning, all our guests arrived on Friday with a full buffet in the evening and bar open until late, a great way for friends and family to get to know each other before our big day! The following morning there was a hot buffet breakfast for all and our guests were able to spend the morning as they wished before being able to have a more relaxed ‘getting ready’ Our 2 wedding planners, Sarah and Kate, were amazing from start to finish and took the stress out of the day for us and made our whole day flow smoothly with not one hiccup. A special shout-out to Dan as well, you kept us both hydrated throughout the day.
