We recently had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding at Balbirnie House, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue. From start to finish, the entire experience was flawless and exceeded all of our expectations. A huge thank you to Katie, who helped us every step of the way with the planning and organisation. She made the process so smooth and stress-free. It felt like everything just fell into place, thanks to her attention to detail and kindness. Our two-night stay at the venue was equally memorable. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and the atmosphere at Balbirnie House is simply magical. We felt so at home, and the setting made the whole weekend feel extra special. A very special mention goes to our MC, David, who went above and beyond in making our day unforgettable. From the moment we met him, he put us at ease, ensuring everything ran seamlessly. Nothing was ever too much for him, and he always had a smile on his face, making us feel incredibly comfortable and well taken care of. He even served us at dinner the night before the wedding, and again, went above and beyond catering for dietary requirements. The staff, the atmosphere, and the beautiful surroundings of Balbirnie House made our wedding day truly unforgettable. We are so grateful to everyone who made our celebration so perfect, and we would wholeheartedly recommend Balbirnie House to anyone looking for an exceptional wedding venue. We will definitely be back!

Wedding of Kirsten Drummond & Aaron Sharp - 7th August 2025 Being the Mother & Father of the Bride, we can honestly say that Balbirnie House is absolutely the best wedding venue, and it is no surprise they have won so many awards recognising that fact. We chose Balbirnie House after visiting it with our daughter and her now husband, and immediately knew it was the venue for us. Our first meeting with our wedding coordinator (initially Leah) was perfect, and to then have one of the Owners / Directors also pop into the meeting to say hello was impressive and a nice touch. The house itself is beautiful, warm and welcoming, and the staff are all wonderful. Our coordinator changed to Shannon after Leah went on maternity leave, and she was also brilliant. She engaged with us prior to every milestone, and no question went unanswered, and any issue we had (I think there were two very minor booking issues with guests) was honestly corrected within minutes. Shannon made planning up to the event, and on the day, a very smooth, easy and chilled experience. Our Master of Ceremonies, David, was also outstanding, a real credit to the Hotel, and it is not surprising so many couples ask for him. He even came in on his day off the night before to help the soon-to-be Bride & Groom unpack wedding decorations, etc., from the car and to ensure it was stored away safely until the venue was being set up for the wedding the following day. David perfectly managed the seamless running of the wedding day and was always on hand to ensure everything was going to plan, even right down to ensuring the Bride & Groom did not miss out on canapes and fizz during the photos !! It was truly the most magical day, and we are so glad we all chose Balbirnie, in our opinion it really is the best wedding venue !!

We had our wedding at Balbirnie House on 07.08.2025, and it was everything we could have dreamed of and more! We were lucky enough to have Shannon as our wedding co-ordinator, and words can’t express just how incredible she was from start to finish! From the hundreds of emails back and forward, nothing was too much trouble, and she was really there to keep us calm and be the one to handle any stress for us. We had an issue with a supplier not getting back to us to the point that it was 3 weeks out from the wedding, and we were beginning to panic. Shannon was there to take this on for us and ensure all the t’s crossed and i’s dotted with as little stress for us as possible. Shannon was a ray of light throughout the process, and on the day, she was there to help me with my dress and kept checking in, ensuring everything was running smoothly! We were also lucky enough to have David as our MC on the day after being asked by our photographer to request him if possible - it came as no surprise why he is so sought after! David went above and beyond on the day, helping with everything and anything. He even went as far as to come in on his day off the day before to help us unload our cars! We were running slightly behind in the morning, but David would never have let on and just kept everything calm and took the time needed to ensure all the suppliers got the shots they wanted. He brought the vibes all day and kept us laughing and even matched his suit with our colour scheme! Genuinely could not recommend Balbirnie, Shannon and David enough - they bring the whole package and our day was perfect!! Thank you all so much!! We also just want to note how incredible a venue Balbirnie is, all our guests commented on how beautiful it was and raved about the service, the food and for those that stayed, everyone was blown away by their rooms. The venue, the staff, the accommodation and just the whole experience of our wedding from planning to the actual weekend was absolutely superb. We could not feel happier with our choice of picking Balbirnie House for our day! Katie, our wedding planner, could not have done more for us to help and advise in all aspects. Our friends and family who attended from many areas of the world are still talking about how fabulous it all was.

Balbirnie House Hotel hit the mark and above it!! Our wedding was very last-minute due to health issues with my husband. A very emotional time for us both, but Gaynor and her team made this such an easy process for us. They accommodated extra requirements and guided us through the process of the day with precision and care. The day itself was perfect with loads of attention to detail from Gaynor and David, and all the staff on duty that day. We had the most beautiful wedding and the absolute best time! We had an incredible wedding at Balbirnie. From the original planning a year in advance, to the wedding day itself, everything and everyone was taken care of. From our first visit to Balbirnie, every staff member made us feel so special - no other venue could compare. After booking, we had so much support from our dedicated coordinator, Katy, who was always on hand for any questions. She guided us through the process, making the whole experience so stress-free and exciting. They have weddings all the time, but from the moment I arrived the evening before the wedding, every staff member recognised me and did everything they could to make me feel like a Vip! On the day, Katy and David dealt with all suppliers, popped in to check on me throughout the morning and reassured me that everything was in hand. I didn’t have anything to worry about, and they guided us through the day so it was seamless and absolutely the best day we could have dreamed of. All our guests have given me such glowing feedback of their own experiences with the staff throughout the day, and everyone has remarked on how well the day flowed. It was a magical experience, and picking Balbirnie was the best decision we could have made. I just wish we could do it all over again!

From the planning process right up to our big day, everything at Balbirnie House was perfect. Katy was super helpful in the lead up to the wedding, answering any and all questions we had and putting our minds at ease. On the day, everything was so well organised and the venue looked perfect. All of our guests complimented how well the day ran and how welcoming the staff were. Our food was really good, as well as drinks and canapes too. We felt really taken care of by the MC Angela on the day and really appreciated all of the little moments she gave us to have five minutes to ourselves as a newly married couple and take it all in. The grounds of the venue are beautiful and allowed us to get some fabulous photos. From the moment we started getting ready, to the final dance, everything was perfect.

We had the best day at Balbirnie for our wedding. The staff are just amazing. Their attention to detail, their communication, and overall attitude is 10/10. The food was fantastic and was served so efficiently for such a large number of guests. Everyone commented on the beautiful hotel and grounds, but mainly on the staff and how smoothly everything ran. We cannot thank the staff enough for helping us have the most perfect day. But a special shoutout to Leah, Gaynor and David for all your help planning our day!

Wow! From the moment we viewed Balbirnie, it was a yes straight away and I’m so glad we made that decision. Throughout the full process, the wedding co-ordinators were on point. Always checking in, guiding us and answering any questions (in my case, multiple) I was never feeling stressed or worried about the lead-up to our day, I was constantly reassured. On the day of our wedding, I was constantly kept up to date with everything, any last-minute changes I had were taken care of and staff were on top of it all. I had no stress, nothing to worry about whatsoever. Our master of ceremonies (Angela) was absolutely outstanding. The full co-ordination of the day ran so smoothly, it was incredible. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better team to have looked after us on our wedding day, they constantly went above and beyond for everything. Every little detail was impeccable. Our guests gave incredible feedback and most said they had never been to a wedding where everything ran like clock work - and it really did. From booking to our big day, the service was 10/10. We got married at Balbirnie in July 2024. We chose Balbirnie for our wedding venue as it was very clear from the start that they cared about us and our wishes for the most important day of our lives. We were shown around the venue at our first meeting and we loved that there were multiple locations to choose from to have the service, drinks and reception. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and the grounds are beautiful in summer. From the first meeting to the day itself, the service from all the staff was exceptional. We are extremely grateful to Gaynor (our wedding coordinator) who really went out of her way to accommodate our particular requests – including organizing an alternative table setting to accommodate our floral displays. Thank you so much Gaynor; you were so kind on the day & nothing felt too much trouble. We really loved the time to ourselves after the ceremony. The day itself was everything we hoped for. We were very lucky to have a glorious sunny day and we got married outside on the lawn. All of our guests commented on the beautiful and romantic setting. Our evening reception was in the ballroom which looked very pretty. The food was delicious and guests all gave positive feedback. Service was fast and well-organized. The team gladly accommodated all of our dietary requests and gluten free guests in particular were really happy with their dishes. The day ran efficiently but nothing felt rushed. We had multiple meetings with the team before the day to make sure we were happy with everything on the schedule. From the first visit to our big celebration, we loved the venue. Despite being fairly local, we have never really appreciated what the House has to offer. We married in an intimate ceremony at Gretna Green in December and wanted somewhere with the 'Wow Factor' to celebrate with our nearest and dearest. We agreed straight away that Balbirnie 'ticked all the boxes', mixing a relaxed atmosphere with a stunning location and attention to detail. The planning was made easy with help from all of the wedding team but Shannon was outstanding, replied quickly and nothing was too much trouble. On the day, everything went to plan, so many happy, smiling faces, love and laughs - just what we wanted. It was relaxed but had all the parts that were required - reception, drinks, canapes, dinner and evening buffet all went down well with our guests and everyone commented how beautiful the venue was and that the service from all staff (including all the reception, waiting and bar staff) received was fantastic. Our MC (David) was just the best - kept me calm and made sure all was on track. Sean took over at night and was equally as fab. Would thoroughly recommended Balbirnie House Hotel if you are thinking about any type of celebration - we will definitely be spending a lot more time there when we can. Thank you.

The team has been wonderful from start to finish. It didn't take long for us to decide on what our wedding venue would be, in fact, Balbirnie was our first viewing and we knew it was the one. From the beautiful setting and venue to the kind and helpful staff, it just made sense! Leah was very kind and helpful throughout the entire planning process and was happily able to accommodate us in any way that we needed and we appreciated that a lot. It helped alleviate a lot of stress! On the day we arrived before the wedding, the staff took everything out of our hands and handled all the set-up required. This allowed us to just sit back and enjoy our special day, as we put full trust in them, to which they delivered perfectly. On the actual wedding day, Angela took care of us as the Master of Ceremonies, and she was excellent, from doing up the men's ties to helping the bride with her bustle malfunction minutes before the cake cutting. You could want nothing more from her and she went above and beyond to make our day even more special. All of the staff were fantastic, and all of our guests told us how nice of a venue it was and how lovely and helpful the staff were too. If you want to have an amazing day, you should go to Balbirnie House.

From the first meeting at the wedding fayre, we had a good feeling about Balbirnie. From the professional and welcoming service we received on that day (and the emotional tears I had viewing the Ballroom for the first time), we knew we had chosen the right venue. I am so glad we did. They were so easy to contact during the whole process, no questions felt silly to ask! Leah and Shannon answered a lot of our questions throughout! (We were also offered another meeting at the point we had lots of questions). Our wedding planner Shannon was fabulous from start to finish, ensuring our vision of our day came to life beautifully. David, our Master of Ceremonies was fabulous on the day, making sure everything ran smoothly and going above and beyond during our wedding photos! Manager Angela was amazing, ensuring we were happy with everything afterwards, which was lovely. Overall, our stay was lovely, the venue was beautifully decorated, especially during Christmas which made the day even more magical. Guests were impressed with how organised everything was on the day, the delicious food and how beautiful it was. The midweek package was also great value Thank you for going above and beyond there is a reason why Balbirnie has won awards. Highly recommended.

There aren’t any words to describe just how incredible everyone at Balbirnie is! We booked our wedding in November 2022 and as soon as we walked through the front door we knew it was the venue for us. We were made to feel so welcome by Leah who showed us all around the house and explained everything about their weddings. The whole team just made everything so easy and took all the stress of wedding planning away. Katy was just amazing, always just an email away and nothing was ever too much hassle. No question was left unanswered! She put our minds at ease throughout the planning process and on the day it really showed why they are the best wedding venue. David was our MC on the day, he is an absolute credit to Balbirnie! He was there for us both throughout the day and made everything so simple and easy. He welcomed us the day before, helped us carry things in and just took care of everything. He made sure the set-up of the venue was exactly how I wanted it, checked on me regularly in the morning, and was there for things I hadn’t even thought of! The entire day was taken care of and we both are so grateful for all those at Balbirnie who made our special day the best. The food was outstanding, I was initially concerned about serving so many guests at once, but everyone raved about how delicious the dinner was. Words cannot fully express how amazing Balbirnie, and their staff were in making our day so magical. On the day, it truly felt like we were in a channel 5 Christmas movie - absolutely stunning. When we came to view the venue, they made us feel so special. The little details they add are just excellent, and they make you feel calm and confident that you’re in good hands. Communication has been brilliant with all of them—Gaynor, Shannon, Leah, and Katy. Everyone has been so helpful and has always gone above and beyond. We could not recommend Balbirnie highly enough. We viewed a few venues in and around Edinburgh, and this was by far the best of the best. Thank you so much again!

We truly had the most amazing wedding day at Balbirnie, everything was perfect - a huge amount of this we can credit to the wonderful staff and beautiful venue. Gaynor, Leah and the wedding planning team were fantastic in the run up to the big day, they were always on hand to answer any questions over email no matter how small, they really had thought of everything to make sure our day was amazing as it was. David was our on-the-day coordinator and was incredible, our families cannot sing his praises enough, I think he might be superhuman as he was here, there and everywhere and anything we needed on the day was sorted in an instant. He was in control of everything. The staff were excellent at catering to our difficult dietary requirements, and all our guests commented on how fantastic the food was. We would highly recommend Balbirnie as a wedding venue for any future couples, we will remember our wedding day at Balbirnie for the rest of our lives!

Balbirnie was my wedding venue and I really couldn’t recommend it more. Shannon and the team were outstanding from the very start. The team were a perfect balance of letting us have our vision, but gave excellent professional advice which made the day go smoother.
