From start to finish, Balbirnie was an absolute dream when it came to our wedding. We chose Balbirnie mainly for the convenience of them being close to where we live and from hearing such good things from people we know who had attended weddings there, but the whole experience completely exceeded our expectations. The whole process of planning the wedding was so easy and stress-free thanks to all of our vendors, but especially Balbirnie and Katy, our coordinator, for making everything easy to understand and always being quick to respond to any questions we had. During the planning, Katy helped us with ideas and genuinely seemed interested and excited for us. The night before the wedding, some friends and family stayed and had a meal and drinks. All the staff were fantastic, who served us and the food was lovely. On the day, we met Angela, our Master of Ceremonies, and she is such an angel. She set up everything for us in the morning exactly as I had planned. She worked with extra things I had brought as well as some of Balbirnie's own items and came up with some beautiful ideas to add some more decorations throughout the ceremony and reception. She would come up whilst myself and the bridesmaids were getting ready to show me the ideas and just like Katy, she showed genuine excitement for our day, which was lovely. The entire day ran so smoothly, at no points were we rushed or hassled and our guests only had positive things to say about their experience at Balbirnie. The bedrooms were lovely and clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was great also. We would recommend Balbirnie to everyone, whether it be for a wedding, night away or just for dinner.

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They are voted No.1 wedding venue in the world for a reason. Couldn't fault the venue or staff one bit. Our day was truly magical, we felt like royalty. If you are considering booking Balbirnie, it's a no brainer! The staff can't do enough for you. The hotel is stunning, the grounds are beautiful, food is amazing. I could go on and on :)

We got married on 13 December 2025 and choosing Balbirnie House was the best decision we made. From the first moment we got in touch, the experience felt special, the communication was genuinely outstanding: quick responses, clear guidance, thoughtful advice, and a real sense that they cared about our day as much as we did. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Balbirnie made us feel completely supported and totally at ease throughout. On the day, they somehow managed to exceed every expectation. The entire team went above and beyond to make everything feel effortless, relaxed, and magical. Nothing was ever too much bother, not once, and the warmth and professionalism shown to us and our guests meant the world. We were particularly grateful that the venue team also did our full set up and styling with all the items we provided; it was done with such care and attention to detail, and it looked absolutely beautiful. A huge heartfelt thank you to Katie and Shannon, our wedding co-ordinators, who were calm, organised, and wonderfully reassuring from start to finish. Angela, our Master of Ceremonies, was phenomenal, friendly, professional and brilliant at keeping everything running smoothly without ever feeling rushed. Taylor looked after everything in the evening with such care, making sure the whole reception flowed perfectly. The venue itself is stunning, and the drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening reception were all flawless. The organisation, atmosphere and food were outstanding. We truly mean it when we say every single member of staff was exceptional. I can't praise Balbirnie House enough. We felt so supported from start to finish throughout the whole process of planning our wedding to the day itself. The staff were excellent and so detail orientated, everything from answering many questions and setting up our DIY to ensuring the bridal party were well fed and watered to saving my dress from mud with a sheet. The venue itself was also beautiful and we appreciated little touches like a bottle of champagne in our room.

We had an absolutely amazing wedding at Balbirnie - we literally couldn’t fault a thing. Shannon, our wedding planner, was fantastic and nothing was ever too much to ask! She sat with us and planned out every detail. On the day we had David as our Master of Ceremonies - he was absolutely fantastic and sort of just slotted in with everyone on the day! He was commented on by a lot of people at the wedding, saying how amazing he was! Everything went so smoothly and the only disappointing part was the lack of time that we got in the amazing bridal suite! I’m really not sure where to start. We had our day at Balbirnie on the second of November and it was everything we had dreamed off. I honestly can’t thank everyone for their hard work through the day and made our day so special. Throughout the whole wedding planning process nothing was too much for our wedding coordinator Katy, she was so professional throughout but also the kind of person that was down to earth. She supported me in the morning when I was a little stressed and made sure that everything went to plan. The vision of my tables was captured perfectly and I couldn’t believe when me and my husband walked into the ballroom that this was all for us. I couldn’t recommend Balbirnie for your wedding enough. We had the best day with Balbirnie House! Special shout-out to Katy (our wedding coordinator) and Kenneth (our MC), who made everything leading up to the day and the day itself run so smoothly and eased some of our nervousness. Trust them to get the job done - they have seen everything and have an answer for everything. My husband has narcolepsy, and the team worked with us for any solutions we needed and were so incredibly kind about being a little flexible. We did a 2-day event at Balbirnie - 14/11/25, the night before our wedding, with a welcome party for 60 guests and an intimate dinner for family and wedding party. There was a wedding on at the venue that night, and you wouldn't have known! The staff were incredible, attentive, and we had so much space to see everyone and party. Then the wedding day (15/11/25) went great! Balbirnie take everything off you the day before and sets up decorations and anything needed. The rooms for ourselves and our guests were lush and massive - things were even moved for us between the bridal getting ready suite and the honeymoon suite. We had an amazing time and could really enjoy every second knowing that things in the background were taken care of. We have had so many compliments from our guests about the venue and how lovely everything was. You cannot go wrong booking this place!

Balbirnie House is such a great place for your wedding venue. We had our big day on 14/11/25, and it was all we dreamt of. From the minute we walked in to the minute we left, we were so welcomed & cared for. Special thanks to Katy, our wedding coordinator, for looking after us for nearly 2 years!!! (We were planning for 2 years). She has been absolutely amazing & I couldn’t have asked for better! Katy looked after me & helped me so much, she was the backbone of this day!! Also, David, our Master of Ceremonies, was out of this world. I felt like a Princess for the day!! Prosecco at hand, umbrella at the ready, he even stitched my dress in the evening for me, as someone stood on it and it ripped! Checked up on me all day & night! I’m still in my wedding bubble (3 weeks ago now). Time really does fly by! We had 74 guests & they were taken care of from the minute they arrived to the minute they left! I’ve had so many complaints on how lovely the day was, how stunning Balbirnie is & how the staff were amazing! Also, the service for the meal was the best ALOT of people had experienced. EVERYONE'S meal was out at the same time, nobody left waiting! The right amount of time in between courses as well! None of this waiting forever for your meal to come! The food was outstanding! The rooms are fantastic, the beds are super comfy! (The best night's sleep). The day went so smoothly! So if you panic like me, you’ll be amazed at the lengths they go to. I was at ease the whole day! They put all the decorations out for us for the whole day, hung up my dress & laid out my shoes for me in the honeymoon suite. Complimentary parking for guests as well, you input your registration number into the iPad at the main reception. Honestly can’t thank Balbirnie enough for everything they have done to make our wedding day a dream day. Balbirnie House Hotel is a stunning venue with lots of areas for our guests to socialise and relax. The staff are fantastic and made our day memorable from start to finish. They made our day feel like their priority and paid attention to detail. The food was delicious, and the service was second to none. Katie helped us plan the day we wanted, and David looked after us on the day to ensure it all flowed seamlessly. David also took amazing photographs to capture key moments. The rooms are beautiful, but somewhat impractical, particularly the showers. The bar prices are what you would expect from an award-winning hotel. The T&C on the room, for when guests choose to stay, are more stringent than normal, but this wasn't a problem for us as we let our guests know in advance what to expect. Some of our guests who wanted to stay the night before weren't able to due to the high demand for rooms. I am I'm no doubt as to why Balbirnie House Hotel is the number one Wedding Venue in Europe. They make dreams come true and know how to produce the most memorable day.

I can't recommend Balbirnie House enough for a wedding; we had the most amazing experience. From the stay, to the food, to the staff, everything was just 10/10. We booked our wedding 3 years in advance to save up, and from the day we booked. Balbirnie were the best. They kept in touch throughout the whole time until the wedding. A special thank you to Katy Ronaldson, who helped coordinate and was my go-to on the run up to the wedding, and a huge thank you to David master of ceremonies, who made the day run so smoothly and perfectly. Wedding of Kirsten Drummond & Aaron Sharp - 7th August 2025 Being the Mother & Father of the Bride, we can honestly say that Balbirnie House is absolutely the best wedding venue, and it is no surprise they have won so many awards recognising that fact. We chose Balbirnie House after visiting it with our daughter and her now husband, and immediately knew it was the venue for us. Our first meeting with our wedding coordinator (initially Leah) was perfect, and to then have one of the Owners / Directors also pop into the meeting to say hello was impressive and a nice touch. The house itself is beautiful, warm and welcoming, and the staff are all wonderful. Our coordinator changed to Shannon after Leah went on maternity leave, and she was also brilliant. She engaged with us prior to every milestone, and no question went unanswered, and any issue we had (I think there were two very minor booking issues with guests) was honestly corrected within minutes. Shannon made planning up to the event, and on the day, a very smooth, easy and chilled experience. Our Master of Ceremonies, David, was also outstanding, a real credit to the Hotel, and it is not surprising so many couples ask for him. He even came in on his day off the night before to help the soon-to-be Bride & Groom unpack wedding decorations, etc., from the car and to ensure it was stored away safely until the venue was being set up for the wedding the following day. David perfectly managed the seamless running of the wedding day and was always on hand to ensure everything was going to plan, even right down to ensuring the Bride & Groom did not miss out on canapes and fizz during the photos !! It was truly the most magical day, and we are so glad we all chose Balbirnie, in our opinion it really is the best wedding venue !!

We had our wedding at Balbirnie House on 07.08.2025, and it was everything we could have dreamed of and more! We were lucky enough to have Shannon as our wedding co-ordinator, and words can’t express just how incredible she was from start to finish! From the hundreds of emails back and forward, nothing was too much trouble, and she was really there to keep us calm and be the one to handle any stress for us. We had an issue with a supplier not getting back to us to the point that it was 3 weeks out from the wedding, and we were beginning to panic. Shannon was there to take this on for us and ensure all the t’s crossed and i’s dotted with as little stress for us as possible. Shannon was a ray of light throughout the process, and on the day, she was there to help me with my dress and kept checking in, ensuring everything was running smoothly! We were also lucky enough to have David as our MC on the day after being asked by our photographer to request him if possible - it came as no surprise why he is so sought after! David went above and beyond on the day, helping with everything and anything. He even went as far as to come in on his day off the day before to help us unload our cars! We were running slightly behind in the morning, but David would never have let on and just kept everything calm and took the time needed to ensure all the suppliers got the shots they wanted. He brought the vibes all day and kept us laughing and even matched his suit with our colour scheme! Genuinely could not recommend Balbirnie, Shannon and David enough - they bring the whole package and our day was perfect!! Thank you all so much!! We also just want to note how incredible a venue Balbirnie is, all our guests commented on how beautiful it was and raved about the service, the food and for those that stayed, everyone was blown away by their rooms. The venue, the staff, the accommodation and just the whole experience of our wedding from planning to the actual weekend was absolutely superb. A very emotional time for us both, but Gaynor and her team made this such an easy process for us. They accommodated extra requirements and guided us through the process of the day with precision and care. I didn’t have anything to worry about, and they guided us through the day so it was seamless and absolutely the best day we could have dreamed of. All our guests have given me such glowing feedback of their own experiences with the staff throughout the day, and everyone has remarked on how well the day flowed. It was a magical experience, and picking Balbirnie was the best decision we could have made. I just wish we could do it all over again!

The grounds of the venue are beautiful and allowed us to get some fabulous photos. From the moment we started getting ready, to the final dance, everything was perfect.

Wow! From the moment we viewed Balbirnie, it was a yes straight away and I’m so glad we made that decision. Throughout the full process, the wedding co-ordinators were on point. Always checking in, guiding us and answering any questions (in my case, multiple) I was never feeling stressed or worried about the lead-up to our day, I was constantly reassured. On the day of our wedding, I was constantly kept up to date with everything, any last-minute changes I had were taken care of and staff were on top of it all. We got married at Balbirnie in July 2024. We chose Balbirnie for our wedding venue as it was very clear from the start that they cared about us and our wishes for the most important day of our lives. We were shown around the venue at our first meeting and we loved that there were multiple locations to choose from to have the service, drinks and reception. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and the grounds are beautiful in summer. From the first meeting to the day itself, the service from all the staff was exceptional. We are extremely grateful to Gaynor (our wedding coordinator) who really went out of her way to accommodate our particular requests – including organizing an alternative table setting to accommodate our floral displays. Thank you so much Gaynor; you were so kind on the day & nothing felt too much trouble. We really loved the time to ourselves after the ceremony. The day itself was everything we hoped for. We were very lucky to have a glorious sunny day and we got married outside on the lawn. All of our guests commented on the beautiful and romantic setting. Our evening reception was in the ballroom which looked very pretty. The food was delicious and guests all gave positive feedback. Service was fast and well-organized. The team gladly accommodated all of our dietary requests and gluten free guests in particular were really happy with their dishes. The day ran efficiently but nothing felt rushed. We had multiple meetings with the team before the day to make sure we were happy with everything on the schedule. From the first visit to our big celebration, we loved the venue. Despite being fairly local, we have never really appreciated what the House has to offer. We married in an intimate ceremony at Gretna Green in December and wanted somewhere with the 'Wow Factor' to celebrate with our nearest and dearest. We agreed straight away that Balbirnie 'ticked all the boxes', mixing a relaxed atmosphere with a stunning location and attention to detail. The planning was made easy with help from all of the wedding team but Shannon was outstanding, replied quickly and nothing was too much trouble. On the day, everything went to plan, so many happy, smiling faces, love and laughs - just what we wanted. It was relaxed but had all the parts that were required - reception, drinks, canapes, dinner and evening buffet all went down well with our guests and everyone commented how beautiful the venue was and that the service from all staff (including all the reception, waiting and bar staff) received was fantastic. Our MC (David) was just the best - kept me calm and made sure all was on track. Sean took over at night and was equally as fab. Would thoroughly recommended Balbirnie House Hotel if you are thinking about any type of celebration - we will definitely be spending a lot more time there when we can. Thank you.
