When planning our wedding reception we contacted a number of venues for quotes in Southampton city centre. Grand Harbour Hotel's quote appeared to offer the best value, i.e. most for your money and I saw they had good reviews so we went with them. I am so glad we made this decision and can not imagine anywhere else being able to top the experience we had. For a very good price we were made to feel very important by Ken who is their weddings/events organiser. There was lots of communication in the lead-up to the day, including meetings to ensure the day was going to run exactly how we wanted it. It felt like nothing was too much trouble and they were able to be flexible with pretty much whatever we wanted. On the wedding day, Ken was there giving us his full attention to make sure the day ran smoothly. Several wedding guests made a point of telling me how good Ken was. I would 100% recommend this venue for a wedding.

We had our intimate wedding last 28th April 2022 and Ken was our wedding coordinator at Leonardo Royal Hotel for our reception. He made everything easy for us during our preparation and the actual day of our wedding. He made sure that we were well informed about the details, schedules band if there were some changes in our plans. He even made extra effort to buy an universal adapter for hair straightener because my friend forgot to bring one. A massive thank you Ken for your help! We really enjoyed our big day! We would highly recommend Leonardo Royal Grand Harbour for a wedding, we had a fantastic day. From the moment we booked our date to the end of our wedding day, we had no worries and we knew everything would be fantastic. Because of covid, we could only have 28 guests instead of more than that, and the hotel just changed everything for us. It was a beautiful, intimate day. The food was fantastic, plenty of choices, lovely and hot and all served together. We had a taste test before the day, and we knew from then the food would be beautiful. Toni, our wedding planner, was with us from the moment I checked into the hotel until late into the evening. She made sure everything went smoothly, and we can honestly say she was an absolute joy to work with. We changed things, added things, asked her to arrange things and nothing was too much trouble. The tables were all decorated for us, and they looked beautiful. The hotel also made our cake, and there was none left for anyone to take home, which is a great sign of how good it was. We looked at a lot of other venues, some cheaper some more expensive, some much much more expensive, but none gave us the confidence the Leonardo did. If you're getting married, go for Leonardo, you won't be disappointed. I'm sure you will be just as happy as we were. -Jackie and Steve Rawlings

We cannot rate this hotel highly enough. From the onset their commitment to making our day as special as possible was evident. We were initially only planning on holding our evening reception here, however as we were so impressed with how they communicated with us and how quickly they responded (even in the height of a pandemic) we moved the whole day here. There was never any hard sell, but when you have a good team and a beautiful venue it sells itself. Ken and the team checked in regularly in the build up to the day and co-ordinated all the timings on the day to perfection. The room was well sized and perfect For the number of guests we had. We were able to access the ceremony room the night before to prepare which took a huge pressure off. The food for the wedding breakfast was exceptional. We had a number of guests say it was one of the best meals they had eaten. Service was seamless and the waiting staff were very efficient. We had a team of staff with us throughout the day and evening. The events team set up our wedding breakfast and evening reception beautifully. The DJ (provided by the Hotel) had our names and CONGRATULATIONS lit up on the wall which was a lovely surprise. Later in the evening my mum had a medical emergency, the staff co-ordinated and showed all guests down to the hotel bar. They then ensured that no one was able to access the room whilst the paramedics were there and made sure my mum had Privacy and dignity both whilst they were treating her and when she was moved to the ambulance. They also Offered me and my husband a great deal of support. They stayed on past their end of shift to ensure we were all ok. This shows that not only can they host wonderful weddings but they can act professionally and calmly when the unexpected happens. This hotel and their team deserve all the recognition. P.s. they also do the best hash browns at breakfast!
