The staff at the Bear Hotel went above and beyond to make sure we had the very best day we could have wished for. From the moment we made our initial visit until the time we checked out after our wedding day, The Bear did their best to make us feel special. We have received countless comments about how amazing the venue, service and food was (and many have said it was the best wedding they have been to!). I can’t thank Amy or the team enough for everything. We plan on returning for our 1 year anniversary and we cannot wait.

Wowza! What a day for us as married husband & wife! It couldn’t have gone any better and was the perfect day! All companies that we booked spoke with Amy beforehand & The Bear were so accommodating during the day due to the weather! Our preparations completed and everything was set in place! Amy helped us in the morning for our final fittings and what will happen during the day (she was always around), the food was amazing for our guests along with their accommodation for the night. We drank the night away and everyone enjoyed such a lovely day! The sun also was a bonus! We will always come back to The bear as it holds a special day for us forever! Charl & Shaun

I don’t know where to start because the whole weekend was just absolutely amazing. I could not have asked for anything more. All the staff at The Bear were so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and their customer service was second to none. The venue looked stunning, even more beautiful than I could have imagined. I honestly would recommend The Bear to anyone for their wedding. Excellent value for money too!! I look back at the day with so many happy memories and that’s with thanks to everyone at The Bear. We honestly do not have a bad word to say. Thank you so much for making it perfect for us!

We held our wedding at The Bear Hotel in September 2022 and it was best decision we've ever made. Everything went without a hitch on the day and we cannot recommend The Bear enough as a wedding venue. Our ceremony was held in The Georgian Ballroom followed by a reception / evening party for 84 in The St Quentins Suite. Both rooms are ideal for a wedding and tastefully decorated. The food was perfect and the hospitality & service delivered by the team at The Bear was excellent. Throughout the run up to the wedding & on the day, the events team were always on hand to answers questions, offer guidance or advice and make arrangements on our behalf. Their professionalism was second to none. Nothing is too much trouble and I had every confidence in them. The majority of our wedding guests stayed overnight at the hotel & everyone was impressed by the high standard of the rooms. All bookings went smoothly. Thank you to all concerned at The Bear for helping us celebrate our wedding & for playing a key part in what was a day to remember.

Amy I hope you are well .. I don’t really know where to start but I wanted to put into some words about our day and how grateful we are to you all. After several attempts at getting married due to COVID we finally were able to set the date 19/09/2022. During all the rearranging I have never known anywhere to be as accommodating as yourselves. Your respect for our wishes and how we wanted our day to go was second to none. The wedding venue is so beautiful, all the details in each room we went in were perfect. Outside looked stunning in the sun. Excellent seating areas for people to sit down during the day and enjoy drinks and entertainment. So much space to party and dance! We were especially lucky with the weather but I don’t doubt that the hotel would be stunning in any weather! I can’t thank the staff enough, Amy your attention to detail in every conversation we had right from the start made me feel totally at ease and confident that you were always on the ball and had everything under control. The entire staff on the day were incredible, the care they showed my family was outstanding and I will be forever grateful that these small things made our day the most enjoyable. The reservation staff always answered our queries and our friends and family who booked their own rooms have commented how helpful the staff were with the bookings. We were lucky enough to have access to many of the apartments across the high street and I think I can totally say they were all perfect, so clean and beautifully presented. Also perfect location for things other than weddings! The food was honestly amazing, everyone has commented how lovely the beef dinner was but the pies in the evening definitely stole the show! Everyone absolutely loved them. Nothing felt like a problem when we discussed the nut allergy many months ago that could have affected our day it was just instantly taken care of and that is amazing service. We can’t thank you enough for the day you put on for our wedding. It is a day we will never forget and we won’t ever forget also the hard work and dedication all of the staff at the hotel put in. To our beautiful wedding venue – The Bear Hotel Where do I start in thanking you for the most utterly precious and PERFECT wedding day?. From the afternoon before the wedding stepping into the Bear I was instantly greeted with smiles, laughter, and the utmost level of care. The ladies helped with any small or big request without a question and instantly calmed me with nerves and wedding jitters. Our venue was dressed to perfection and our guests truly did have the wow factor with the beautiful layout of the Bear hotel. Now, being a foodie all I can say is WOW; the food was absolutely phenomenal. Beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The weather was not an issue as the staff knew exactly what to do and took control of maintaining the perfect day, yep we had thunder, rain, sunshine and even lightning however it was not a problem. We first booked our wedding in 2018, I won’t go into detail we were all impacted by covid, however, with 3 postponements I would like to say the wedding coordinator Amy could not have been more helpful, she showed the highest level of compassion and communicated with us better than myself and my husband do with each other (ha-ha). Amy provided the highest levels of professionalism as well as humour, and attentiveness. We are so grateful to of had you through our journey and we wish you the best of luck in your future weddings, if you are lucky enough to have Amy then just know your wedding will be in the hands of a queen! To all of the amazing staff, you are all an absolute asset to The Bear, and the team are stronger than the Welsh rugby squad. Thank you for absolutely everything, we will most definitely be celebrating our anniversary with you every year!

I booked The Bear Hotel without viewing any other venue. As soon as I sat down in my initial appointment I knew I didn't need to go anywhere else. The staff were all amazing, during the lead up and on the day - Amy in particular was so helpful. We had to postpone 3 times due to Covid; Amy was so helpful and supportive, making the whole process so easy. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, the attention to detail (in all aspects) was perfect. Myself, my husband and all of our guests had the most amazing day. Thank you to everyone at The Bear...would 100% recommend xxx
