Oh my gosh, from start to finish everything was amazing. I booked my wedding three years ago with Barnbrow Country House (Susan). The minute we drove up the drive way we knew this was or place, even with two lock downs we felt so at ease with this venue. If you are looking for a quirky venue, which I was, this is your place. By god did it exceed our expectations from the beginning. Our guests were amazed with the quirkiness of there rooms. Our food was 5 stars, all homemade. If I was to do it all over again, Barnbrow Country house would always be the place. Thank you to all the staff and to Susan, who I became friends with the minute I drove up that drive with my now husband. You all made our day so perfect. The guests loved how different it was to a traditional hotel wedding. The rooms were so clean, and breakfast amazing. Thanks again! xx

Barnabrow staff were simply wonderful for us throughout all of our changes of dates due to Covid. We got married here with four guests, and had the most wonderful ceremony in the fairy fort, followed by a sumptuous meal. Three months later, when restrictions eased somewhat, we were finally able to have the day we wanted to have in March 2020 with all of our family and friends. The food, service, craic, weather and location we're all exceptional. Susan, Jess, Ruth, Geraldine and of course the kitchen and service staff really made our day so special. We booked our wedding in 2019 and, after two postponements, we were so delighted that Barnabrow was still available to us. From the outset, we found the communication very prompt and efficient from the wedding team, led brilliantly by Geraldine, Susan and Ruth. There were very few issues that could not be solved by an email or a phone call, so it made the whole process so easy. We stayed in one of the cottages the night before and it exceeded all of our expectations. It was cosy, spacious, comfortable and perfect for photos on the day. The conservatory was bathed in a lovely autumn light, and felt so intimate. The food was truly delicious, thank you Adrian and team, and will be talked about for a long time to come! The bar staff were professional and pleasant. Our guests loved their rooms, and the rooms in the main house were beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, served in a gorgeous room with a cosy fire. We loved our day and are so happy that we chose Barnabrow Country House. We are looking forward to visiting the Tea Rooms for afternoon tea to reminisce on our time there.

I’m not long back after extended travelling and wanted to write to you re my booking with you at Barnabrow on 19 July. In short I want to extend a huge THANK YOU from myself and Julien to everyone at Barnabrow, and here’s why: We had high expectations for our wedding, however Barnabrow managed to exceed them on every level. The service you provided on the day was beyond what we could have hoped for. Everyone of the staff were really friendly and engaging with everyone. Many of the wedding guests have commented on it. They were also really efficient and carried out their work on the day efficiently and professionally. The food was truly amazing. From the breakfast experience to the wedding lunch and also the food provided later in the evening. The wedding lunch was exceptional and I can’t count the amount of positive feedback I have received. The shared plates was unique and delicious, and everything was cooked to perfection. Many of our wedding group are discerning foodies and they were all really impressed. And we all loved the wine, including the French

We would like to thank you all so much for our recent wedding at Barnabrow House (July 6th 2019) Myself and Stephen were blown away by Barnabrow from day one and after Seeing the venue knew it was for us. It was actually the only venue we visited. From the day we booked to check out the day after everything at Barnabrow has been so easy and made the whole process of wedding planning so much less stressful. Every single guest on the day commented on the beauty of the house and the grounds, the very relaxed feeling and the outstanding food. It was our main hope for the day that everyone was well fed and relaxed and Barnabrow most definitely made this possible. I would like to thank the reception/ wedding planning team, especially Amy, Susan, Jessica and Jess who were so helpful in guiding us through the entire process and the fastest email reply’s I have ever experienced. Also thank you for being so accommodating to guests of mine who changed accommodation and had issues the day of. It was very much appreciated. Can I in particular pay complement to the three bar men on the night. I apologise I didn’t get all their names. For the size of the wedding compared to the bar there was never a wait and everyone was complimenting them for their professional management of the bar and speed. Can I pay a particular compliment to one of the bar men, Blake( I hope I have the name right). On the night we needed something to eat for my Mom who has recently been ill. As she had gone to Bed we never thought to keep her some of the afters food and he really went above and beyond to help us in getting something for her late that night. He looked around and managed to find something suitable. This small gesture meant a lot to us and we are very grateful to him and impressed by his professionalism. We hope you will acknowledge this with him and please pass on our sincere gratitide. We cannot fault the amazing service we received from Barnabrow from day one and would have no hesitation in recommending the venue to anyone for any occasion. We had our Wedding in Barnabrow last Month and I must say that from the second we drove up we knew it was the place for us and after dealing with Susan and Amy that certainty was further cemented. They are the most amazing ladies you could hope to have helping you plan your wedding. They were super fast in all their responses and were always there to answer all our hundreds of questions! The day itself was pure magic, the sun shone even through there was a storm the day before and after and we'd like to think that the magic that Barnabrow holds was sprinkled on us that day. We got ready in the Cottages which are huge and well equipped, we had family from abroad and our own kids as well so the cottages were ideal for our needs. The drinks reception and canapés were delicious and with the weather so nice we were even able to have our musicians play outside while everyone enjoyed the decking and outdoor seating. Now the Food, there is only one word for the Food That Stuart sends out of his kitchen, Flawless! Every single guest adored the food and many have said they will be going back again for sunday lunch. The grounds are beautiful, spread out and quiet, but do bear in mind that there is a lot of steps if you have people in a wheelchair or elderly but there is always a solution so don't let that deter you from going to take a look at Barnabrow, you wont be disappointed. A special mention too for Marcel and all the amazing staff that looked after us during the day, you were all friendly, happy and courteous to the guests and many were singing your praises the next day! As we were there for a few days we had a BBQ the day after in the cottage, to be fair we had to eat inside as the weather was so shocking outside but wow again the food was amazing and lots of it. From both of us thank you so much for helping make our wedding such an amazing and memorable day.

The most amazing wedding venue from the get go! We honestly could not have asked for a better day. From planning stages, to the food tasting, to the day itself we were highly impressed with the high quality of everything. Barnabrow country house is so special , so unique and from the minute I saw it i fell in love with the place. The decoration , the cosy friendly atmosphere just warms peoples hearts It really is a little piece of heaven in the cork ???? We can’t fault a simple thing! Barnabrow House, where do I start firstly by saying THANK YOU!!! We had our wedding here Easter weekend 20th of April 2019. From the very moment, we met the owner Geraldine we knew this was where we were going to get married. We got married in the fairy grove on the grounds of Barnabrow, which was like something from a fairytale. The venue itself is magical and amazing, the staff were outstanding on the day. The food was top class, and the management staff of Susan, Amy, Kristine were soooo helpful and couldn't do enough they worked very hard to ensure the day went smoothly. We will never forget our wedding day here it will stay with us forever. We stayed in the cottages the night before which are part of Barnabrow and the space and beauty of the cottages we're unbelievable. This place is a hidden gem in the heart of East Cork, we will be back very soon to eat and stay here, along with our family. Along with many other people who came to our wedding !! I could just go on and on, we left with smiles, we were left with great memories of this beautiful well taken care of venue, very caring staff, excellent owner. Accommodation in Barnabrow has rooms also in the venue it was just breathtaking, attention to detail was sublime, the breakfast after the next day was the icing on the cake, it was delicious, again staff so attentive. So if you want good service, top class food, amazing staff, and unique wedding here is the place to go too 10/10 .

We had our wedding at Barnabrow House in July 2018. Our wedding was organised my parents in Cork as we are based in Australia. Barnabrow was very good at communicating everything by email, and they were really easy to deal with. I know Mum & Dad found them very helpful on the ground and any changes we wanted to make (eg last min menu change) were not a problem! The rooms were beautiful and everyone commented on how unique the place was! We loved the house and gardens and it had a lovely rustic feeling. Lots of great spots for photos too. We were lucky with the weather so it was fabulous having the drinks reception on the outside deck. Dinner was AMAZING so many people told us how it was the best food they had at a wedding and there was so much choice too! We were stuffed! The restaurant and bar area was perfect for our part of about 85 people. Have to say the bar manager was sooo accommodating and helpful all night long, and had no problems with any of our requests. We really enjoyed the whole experience, including a yummy breakfast the next morning too! Thank you so much! Maeve & Phil

I’ve been trying to write this review for a while now, but I’ve struggled to find the words to express how amazing our wedding last month was. On the first day we drove up the tree-lined entrance, and waved hello to the resident donkeys, we instantly knew Barnabrow was special. Nestled into the East Cork countryside, the higgeldy-piggeldy layout of the buildings is perfect for anyone looking for rustic charm. Which is exactly what we were going for! The staff in Barnabrow couldn’t have been more lovely and helpful, from the waiters and bar staff to the chef Stuart, who agreed to help look for my Mum’s missing fascinator (which obviously wouldn’t be in the kitchen, and which eventually turned up tucked into her bouquet!)! We mostly dealt with Amy and Susan over email while organising the wedding, and they were just brilliant - nothing was too much trouble, even when we had an unexpected extra guest added 48 hours before the big day! Christine, who was there with us on the day of the wedding was absolutely wonderful, making sure the whole day ran smoothly, and that we remembered to eat! Everyone of the staff that we met were fab! The food was second to none - before the wedding people kept telling me that I would be too busy to enjoy the meal, but there was no way I was missing that! From the black pudding salad starter, to the chocolate brownie, it was all scrumptious! So many of our guests have said it was the best meal they’d had! We had the most amazing day, starting with our lovely humanist ceremony in the sunlit ceremony room, and finishing with a trad session in the bar that lasted into the wee hours, and we wouldn’t change a thing! If a relaxed, charmingly rustic venue is what you’re looking for, then Barnabrow House is for you! Thanks so much to everyone at Barnabrow for the absolute best day!

We had such a beautiful day in Barnabrow House for our wedding. The venue is so beautiful and unique and I loved that we had the whole place to ourselves. The staff were wonderfully helpful and the food was exquisite. In fact many guests told us that it was the best food they ever had at a wedding! Likewise we had lovely feedback about how friendly and helpful the staff were on the day. Barnabrow is an amazing wedding venue.

If you're looking for a wedding venue that is relaxed, intimate, welcoming, great food, outstanding service - then I think Barnabrow House is the best option. The grounds are exceptional, with secret corners and winding paths. The guests are still talking about the beef, Amy and Susan are great to deal with. We cannot recommend Barnabrow House highly enough as a wedding venue. Our top 3 reasons (and there are many more than three) are as follows: 1 – The food was amazing and tasted exceptional on the day. We can’t praise Stuart and the team enough. Our gusts are still raving about the food. Several commented “It wasn’t typical wedding food, it was restaurant food”. There were clean plates all around. 2 – All of our requests were dealt with in a professional and stress-free manner from having a special smoked salmon to be sure the bar was stocked with plenty of craft beer for our many craft beer loving guests. Nothing was a problem. The Barnabrow team made the whole process easy and resulted in a stress-free occasion. 3 – The venue itself is quite unique and gorgeous. It’s not a typical hotel or even manor house. It’s much more with different, quirky buildings which surprised and delighted our guests. There were so many spots for unique and beautiful photographs that we didn’t feel the need to go anywhere else after the Church ceremony, we headed straight back to Barnabrow to be with our guests and enjoy the drinks reception with them in between photographs on the grounds. This allowed us to actually enjoy our own wedding! If we could do it all again, we wouldn’t change a thing. The day was perfect, including the weather. In a venue like Barnabrow, the weather can play a big part in how the day goes because it’s not all enclosed in a stuffy, low ceiling function room like a typical hotel. Barnabrow HOuse was everything we hoped for and more. For us, BArnabrow is a truly special venue relaxed, beautiful and private, perfect for weddings. The decor in the house is quirky, individual and each room is individually decorated. Every corner of the grounds is a photo opportunity. The office staff were helpul and professional, answering every question and anticipating our every need on the day. We received a lot of compliments from our guests on both the venue and the food. I loved Barnabrow and would recommend it to anyone!

Thank you to all the staff at Barnabrow House, everything from the lead up to the wedding, to the morning of the wedding when we were getting ready in the cottages, to the beautiful set up of the banquet hall, the stunning food. Our wedding in Barnabrow House was everything we hoped and more. Breathtaking surroundings, wonderful food and exclusive to our guests and us. We opted for the food to share and this suited our wedding party (which was slightly informal) perfect. The staff were fantastic on the lead up to the wedding and on the day itself. My husband and I choose Barnabrow for our wedding reception in late December 2015 after considering a number of hotels in Cork. The initial reason was the setting, stunning countryside meaning endless photo opportunities. After a magical winter wedding we cannot recommend this venue highly enough, the hotel, the exceptional staff and food was all top notch. They went above and beyond for us and was so accommodating in every task The food is what you expect of a 5 star restaurant and that came from everyone not just us, from our international guests to those who are involved in the industry itself. We received so many compliments, many guests had never been to Barnabrow before and have since all vowed to return. We wanted a day that both of us & our guests would enjoy and some said it was the best wedding they had been to.

Barnabrow is a fantastic wedding venue! Amy was very helpful throughout the lead-up to the wedding and nothing was ever too much trouble. On our wedding day everything ran smoothly.The food and service was amazing! Many of our wedding guests commented on how delicious the food was and what a lovely venue we had chosen. We knew this would be a special place from the minute we drove through the gates. We have so many good things to say about Barnabrow House and its wonderful staff. It was exactly the venue we were looking for - classy but with a relaxed atmosphere, somewhere with character, somewhere that served amazing food and offered an incredible service. Our guests have raved about this magical place ever since. We recently got married at Barnabrow and to say it was the perfect day is an understatement. I arrived early as i getting married fom Barnabrow, Amy was on hand all morning to help and created a stress free environment which set me up perfectly for the day ahead. The grounds were magnificent and the attention to detail blew us away. We didn't have to worry about anything thanks to the great planning of our wedding coordinator Mary and we were guided calmly through the day by Heather who was wonderful. We were lucky to get a bit of time at the reception after our photographs and it was perfect. Our friends and family really enjoyed the setting and the Mor Chluna bar was great. After this we were given a few minutes just to ourselves before dinner which was lovely. Dinner was brilliantly presented and efficiently served which left no one waiting. The food was delicious and was commented on by all our guests. We had enjoyed the food tasting before but the dinner on the day was even better. The bar was great and the staff again fantastic. Everyone was nice and relaxed by the end of the day. Breakfast the following day was delicious and there was plenty of choice with something for everyone. This is a five out of five venue.

We had our amazing wedding day at Barnabrow House on June 16th 2017. We found the venue when we attended a wedding at Barnabrow the year before. We booked it there and then and didn't even consider looking at anywhere else. The grounds, the food, the atmosphere; we were sold!! As we live in Perth, Australia the staff at Barnabrow made it super easy to arrange our wedding. Emails were answered promptly and nothing was too much trouble. The sun shone on the day and we had our ceremony outside the main house which was beautiful. Everything ran smoothly and it felt like the venue was all ours for the whole day and night. It was very relaxed and staff were efficient and friendly and catered to our every need. The grounds were stunning and we got some beautiful photos with the resident donkeys!! The accomodation was excellent too. Our guests were very impressed with their beautiful rooms.The food was of course was amazing from the canepes, meal, afters food and breakfast. Everyone is still raving about the black pudding starter!! We could not fault anything. Barnabrow is a beautiful venue and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxed, intimate wedding venue with amazing food. Firstly, thank you so much for all your help with our wedding! We had the best day of our lives and a huge part of the credit for that must go to all the wonderful staff at Barnabrow House. The venue was absolutely beautiful, so colourful and tastefully decorated - we didn't need to add anything to it as it was so picturesque as it was. The gardens were blooming with beautiful flowers and the bar and restaurant areas were all so clean and well kept and nicely decorated. The staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful and efficient, they looked after our every need and were always there ready to help when we needed them with smiles on their faces! It made the day run so smoothly and as a result, we were able to really relax and enjoy the day, as were all our guests. The food was beyond wonderful, the menu was creative and original and catered for everyone, including the coeliacs, vegetarians and vegans among us. The sharing plates for starters worked really well, everyone enjoyed being able to sample all the different dishes and food envy was avoided! Everything was absolutely delicious and there was plenty to go around too - we barely had room for dessert but it was so good, nobody could resist. Luckily, the Marvels band and DJ rocked the house later on and kept everyone on the dancefloor all night so we just about made room for the lovely afters food that came out later! The after-party room was ideal too - we had a few musicians and singers among the guests so we had a great session there till the wee hours! The rooms were beautiful too, I love how each of them has a unique style and they are so comfortable and spacious. All in all, I couldn't recommend Barnabrow House highly enough. Everyone had an absolutely wonderful day and so many guests told us that it was the best wedding they were ever at, saying how beautiful they thought the venue was and how relaxed and fun the atmosphere was. I'm already looking forward to visiting Barnabrow again for Sunday lunch sometime! Our wedding took place on Saturday June 10th 2017 at Barnabrow House. From the first day we set foot in Barnabrow, we instantly fell in love with it. It was so enchanting and charming with its delightful gardens and unique dining set up, we knew instantly it was the place for us. The intimate setting in Barnabrow really won us over, knowing we had the whole place to ourselves for our special day. From our initial meeting to our Wedding day, the staff at Barnabrow were simply exceptional, Amy in particular was amazing and a great support throughout. Where to start with the food in Barnabrow? It is delicious and the chef Stuart is a credit to Barnabrow.. We ate at Barnabrow many times before our wedding for family occasions and each time the food got better and better. The food served at our wedding was full of flavour and our guest are still taking about how amazing their meal was. The setting in Barnabrow speaks for itself, it is endearing with the little cottages around the main house. It was just really magical, arriving together into Barnabrow, it was so special seeing how homely it was and all out guests sitting out on the decking with the stunning gardens in the background. Our families and friends stayed in Barnabrow for 3 nights between the main house, and also the holiday village next door and we could not recommend them highly enough. If you are looking for an intimate, unique venue, with friendly helpful staff , stunning photo opportunities and excellent food. Then Barnabrow ticks all the boxes.
