When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by Ruth on the day and she made us feel that everything was under control. Exactly what you need for those wedding day nerves. Our guests are still talking about how good the food was. Our menu went down a treat and this is due to high quality and effort put into the courses. It was so nice to sit at the top table and watch everyone enjoying themselves so much. We would especially like to thank Estella who was always at the end of an email or telephone call. Estella made us feel at ease in the lead up to our wedding day. Also we have to mention Chloe who kindly looked after us on the day. She so carefully ensured we were ok throughout the day by checking in regularly and made sure everything ran smoothly. Even before she finished on the night, Chloe came to me to ask if there was anything further we needed before she left. We would highly recommend the Shearwater Hotel & Spa for your big day if you are thinking about it. We would struggle to find fault, I just wish the day didn’t go by so fast. Noel and I just want to thank you for everything you have done for us on the lead up to our wedding day and on the day itself. From the moment we walked into The Shearwater to view it as a possible venue for our wedding reception, we knew it was "our hotel". The decor, the welcome from Chloe and all the staff, the service and the sheer class was exactly what we were looking for on our wedding day. Chloe was super efficient and organised in the planning of all aspects of the wedding. Offering advice and helping us out when needed, we really appreciated that. Thanks to all the staff throughout the process of planning our wedding right up until the day of our wedding. Every time we visited the Shearwater from the moment we booked our wedding date, we were treated like royalty by Chloe and all the staff. The day of the wedding ran so smoothly, greeted by Chloe and a colleague at the front door and right throughout the day, constant checks from Chloe and the team to see was everything okay. Our guests raved about how amazing the service was and how delicious the food was. They are still talking about that 10 weeks later. On 18th August 2023, we got married in The Shearwater Hotel Ballinasloe, Chloe Kelly was instrumental in making our day the most special day we could have asked for. In the months, weeks and days leading up to the day, Chloe was always on hand to help withadvice and information or just a listening ear to help any little hiccup we may have faced. She was professional, organised and very reliable in every aspect of our wedding. Chloe's attention to detail and creative suggestions enabled us to have a perfect wedding day. We had the most incredible experience having our wedding reception and our day two at The Shearwater. From the first day of planning to the weekend of our wedding, Estella and Chloe were not only so kind but also brilliant at their job. My husband and I live in Australia and there was never a time we felt we could not pick up the phone to call the wedding coordinators or send an email to the hotel staff. All the staff of The Shearwater went above and beyond to make our day and our day two unforgettable, providing invaluable guidance and support throughout the planning process and service through ever moment of our wedding weekend. The hotel itself had a relaxed and beautiful ambiance, with beautiful Christmas decorations which set the perfect backdrop for our special day. The food was exceptional, and the service provided was excellent. We couldn't have asked for a better venue, and I would recommend having your wedding at The Shearwater to anyone. From the first email we sent to the Shearwater up until our wedding day, we couldn’t fault any of it. From the price, to the food, to the support from Chloe was exceptional. Chloe was so easy to deal with and professional in every way. Everything seemed so easy and anytime we needed to find out something, there was never an issue and always a quick response. We got a fantastic package and great value for money. On the day of our wedding, we didn’t have to think of anything. Chloe had everything organised. We are two weeks married today and people are still talking about the venue and the food. The rump steak beef in particular. A lovely relaxed environment enjoyed by everyone. We got married in the Shearwater Hotel last July, after several date changes due to covid. Estella, Chloe and Ruth couldn't have been more helpful over the 3 years of planning. There was never any issues with changing dates and they were always there to help in any way they could and were so accommodating of any requests we had. Everything was perfect on the day- the food and service were top class. All our guests have complemented the great service and food. As many couples had to postpone our wedding due to Covid, the Shearwater was so accommodating in rescheduling our date. They kept the terms of our original contract which was much appreciated due to the current economic circumstances. Estella, Chloe and Averil kept us in the loop as to what needed to be done and a timeline of jobs to be completed to ensure the preparation went as smoothly as possible. All of our ideas were taken on board and nothing was disregarded or too much to ask. We found the hotel to be extremely child friendly. As we had two young daughters, they ensured we had a big enough bedroom, cots, kids’ clubs and reminded us about the swimming pool. The night before the wedding we had a beautiful meal with our families, a lot more people showed up than we had originally planned. John Harvey, the bar staff and the restaurant staff assured us that there would be no problem. The Shearwater wedding team set up our memorial table, wedding favours and our kids’ area without any hesitation. The wedding day went extremely smoothly, Chloe and her team ensured the meal went as planned. (Even though we had to be rang to remind us to come back from the photos in Shannon bridge). The food was outstanding and everyone at the wedding really enjoyed it. The staff were professional, friendly and we really appreciated how flexible they were to us and our wedding party. Overall, the three nights we spent in the Shearwater Hotel was really enjoyable. From the greetings at reception, to the efficient bar service, the wedding coordination team and the restaurant staff we found everyone to be so friendly and flexible. We would have no reservations in recommending the Shearwater Hotel to friends and family for any event. A huge thank you again to all the Shearwater staff for making our day so special. We look forward to visiting the hotel soon.

This Hotel is just amazing, not one fault, from the minute we went to look at it as a venue for our big day to the day after wedding, all the staff were so professional and helpful, always prompt in replying to emails. Chloe and team took the stress out of the planning. Our guests are still talking about the food, the service, especially how quick the meal was served. We will definitely back to his hotel more often, for dinner, a spa, a concert or just a family gathering, ideal place, so central to loads of places. The reception is fab, nice and very relaxing.

We decided to go ahead with our original date with the Shearwater Hotel and Spa and we are so glad that we did. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. The reassurance they offered us during such an unpredictable time was amazing. They made us feel so at ease and made it feel as much like a "normal" wedding as possible during this pandemic. Winston, myself and our guests had such an amazing day and was everything we had hoped for. From the first time we viewed the venue we knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding. The staff were always so friendly and helpful with everything. The food was out of this world. Our guests are continually telling us how amazing the food and service was. The staff went out if their way to make us feel so important and make the day flow continuously. The Wedding suite is just unbelievable such an amazing experience. We would happily move into the suite if we could! Our ballroom was private which was amazing. We had all our own facilities in the one area. The patio area is a lovely big area where we spent most of our day and evening as it was such a lovely day for our wedding. We are so delighted we decided to go with the Shearwater Hotel and Spa as it is just such a beautiful venue with such professional, hard working, welcoming, and committed staff. We couldn't ask for more and we cannot wait to spend our Anniversary and many more occasions in the hotel. We had our wedding the 06th August 2021 in the the Shearwater Hotel & Spa. The day we went to view the hotel back in February 2019 we knew it was the one for us. From the moment you walk into the hotel it is just fabulous, your are met with the most amazing chandelier in the centre of reception, the Marina bar was beautifully laid out for our guests and the walk down to the ballroom was just so beautifully decorated all along the way, as for the ballroom it was just absolutely stunning, no corners cut it looked amazing. I don't know what I can say to do the staff justice! They were just absolutely amazing on the day and lead up to the day, there were a lot of complications and uncertainty due to Covid and changing restrictions but Estella could not have done enough to accommodate us no matter what hurdle was thrown at us, she was always on the end of an email or the phone whenever needed to reassure us and guide us through things. The reception staff were so helpful with any queries we had in relation to rooms and bookings and were just so nice in general. Ruth looked after us on the night and ensured everything ran smoothly with service, the serving staff were so nice and the meal was served seamlessly, guests even commented to us they couldn't believe the service, there was no skimping on staff for the night, no one wanted for anything. John who looked after things in the bar was just brilliant, himself and the rest of the staff looked after us and our guests so well. The food was just out of this world, people were talking about it for days, it was absolutely delicious and that is an understatement, the beef was a MASSIVE talking point. We genuinely cannot thank Estella and all the staff of the Shearwater Hotel & Spa enough, each and everyone we came into contact with were so helpful, friendly & accommodating. They made the build up to the day so easy and they made the day itself run seamlessly from start to finish. We are genuinely delighted.
